I feel like Api could play at this level for another 2-3 years provided he shares minutes. I don't understand why Benji didn't give him a breather and bring TDS on. Api looked absolutely gassed in that last 15 mins on Friday.

Mainly because I think he's the smartest bloke in the team.

But retaining him for another 3 years ? I doubt he has it in him.

This situation really sucks. I can't believe we can't retain both of them and work through some sort of a transition assuming TDS proves he is up to it.

I think that's what everyone wants, except TDS for some reason, he seemed OK with it earlier.

We did have that 05. The deal was that TDS would stay but if we extended api past his current contract he was free to leave.

And that's where we find ourselves now.

You can't really blame TDS. He's doing his apprenticeship and going well. But he can only play second fiddle for so long. He obviously wants to test himself and he won't make bank sitting on the bench or playing reggies

I honestly like to think we could work it out though. Surely we pay Api a lot less to stay longer. We have to protect ourselves. It's a business. We also pay TDS more in the later contract years.

Surely they can work something out or take a middle ground here.

Unfortunately you're not allowed to back end contracts anymore.

I can't see api taking less money with Perth in the background with a very large chequebook and an already stated interest in api.

I'd like to keep them both as well but I can't see that happening now. More likely we'll lose both in typical tigers fashion

I don't think we will lose Api.
I also don't think TDS, will get a starting 9 role anywhere.

I’m guessing the plan changed from a player swap with Newcastle to a standalone deal with Newcastle after this weeks team was registered.. Then with the comeback in progress and a bit of fk THIS AGAIN Benji decided to leave TDS on the bench.. prob regrets it now
