    18th club, whose next?

Cheers mate. I’d love to see the Reds back, strong brand and looks great! I’d dare say the Roo would need to be simplified for 2021, a la my team (Titans) and Wests. With Redcliffe in now, if they got up, do you think they would have to change colours a bit, like make black more prominent and...

    18th club, whose next?

Here’s a question out of pure ignorance- why “Pirates”? It seems like a bit of a Raiders rip off (as outsiders coming in by ships to wreak havoc). Is there no appetite to reimagine the Reds? Is it just a purposeful differentiation of two entities, and are you happy with the moniker “Pirates”??

The Game 2022 Jerseys, Sponsorship, Logos etc

The gold helmet is 11/10!!! What a difference!!!

The Game 2022 Jerseys, Sponsorship, Logos etc

Lolz!! That’s terrible, IMO. Uninspiring, generic and bland. I’ve seen more inspiring kits in an under 6 soccer team!!

    TWO new Brisbane teams

Sure is, but out still doesn’t take away the fact that Logan is still far more related to the Goldie than Ipswich. I bought my house in the GCCC, and because a state premier wanted to play with boundaries, I’m now considered Logan. Part of the appeal in living in Beenleigh is that it’s halfway...

    TWO new Brisbane teams

Does everyone know the Gold Coast is not just Surfers to Broadbeach? The city starts at Yatala in the north and stretches to Coolangatta on the border? I think the Tweed Coast is comfortably associated with the Goldie….

    TWO new Brisbane teams

Logan and the GC are literally next door to each other. Logan was always a part of the South Coast Rugby League comps and have far more synergy with the GC than Ipswich. The Gold Coast’s growth corridor is on the borders of Logan. Talent development in Logan is already a key focus for the Titans...

    TWO new Brisbane teams

Sorry, the above post was my reply- everyday’s a challenge apparently……

    TWO new Brisbane teams

Not west. What’s wrong with leaving that to the Broncos? They were at their peak when Ipswich and the Darling Downs were their key catchment, plus (anecdotally) those folk love the Donkeys out there. They also used to do a good job out there too. Finally as was suggested a few posts earlier...

    TWO new Brisbane teams

Between Ipswich and Toowoomba? Gatton?? It’s a but f**k country town with nothing more important than a few good bakeries….

"It’s very realistic to say that we’ll have a second team in Brisbane in 2023": V'landys

I’d be very surprised if they did- the link between Redcliffe and the Sunny Coast is only because Redcliffe is in between Brisbane and the Coast. In the league world, they are quite adversarial. And I doubt the Storm would let go either, considering they recently extended their partnership.

Where could/should/will the NRL be in 10 years time?

Agreed. Sorry Donkeys, I don’t think being popular in a dying/dead media is a positive future for our game (seriously, who actually watches those shows, let alone FTA in 2021?? Even my 83 year old Uncle is moving to streaming more and more these days). I would rather see us try to grow the...

Penrith from everyone’s second favourite club in 2003 to absolute hated club in 2021:

That has no relevance to the argument. But the facts are in 2021 Penrith are the least liked club in the comp and where there’s smoke there’s fire. If Melbourne in 2021 were anywhere near as arrogant as Penrith, it would show in the numbers- but it doesn’t. So back to bed old boy, your arguments...

NRL's growth mindset points to 18th team. And it ain't Perth.

I know this is a bit off topic, but are there any real thoughts to the Suns being relocated/folded? Or is it just keyboard warriors making shit up??

NRL's growth mindset points to 18th team. And it ain't Perth.

You would think that because you’re ignorant to the inherit inequity of the concept. #itsNRLnotNSWRL

"It’s very realistic to say that we’ll have a second team in Brisbane in 2023": V'landys

The data would be the addresses of their Members. Also, anecdotally (being a said member) there is a population of Titans supporters in the Southside.

    Redcliffe put their hand up

I think he’s more aligned the the Seagulls now- coached there a few years ago and now lives out that way- I see him weekly in my workplace in Wynnum.

    Easts Tigers Enter Expansion Race

There’s a big divide in Brisbane across the river, but people in Logan (particularly, and to a lesser degree the eastern suburbs of Ipswich) still consider themselves as Southsiders. The Broncos have been a real anomaly for drawing support evenly across Greater Brisbane, but I suppose that’s...
