Match Discussion: Round 7 vs Penrith @ Carrington Park, Bathurst / Wiradjuri

I'm ok with that result. At least we put in a hard, decent effort right from the start. Bateman was great in an unfamiliar role. He created more opportunities than the rest of the team combined. Staines had an afternoon to forget and I'd be surprised if he wasn't shaking hands with the...

Match Discussion: Round 7 vs Penrith @ Carrington Park, Bathurst / Wiradjuri

Great first half from the lads. Plenty of agro and muscle in defence in the middle. The difference in the teams is the speed of the play the ball. Penrith are way quicker than us. The ref is calling us to get up as soon as the tackle is complete but not doing the same when Penrith are...

Match Discussion: Round 7 vs Penrith @ Carrington Park, Bathurst / Wiradjuri

I have to question the wisdom of Parra taking a home every year to typical farkin stinking hot Darwin. There's nothing wrong with that in itself if you took a team there like Canberra, Melbourne, or the Warriors, who play in a colder climate than you do. They always play against a QLD team...

    Stefano Utoikamanu

How much game time is Stef playing on average? I think it's very hard to pay props $1 mil a year when most are only on the field for 40 to 50 mins a game. I'd rather 2 very good wingers which you seem to be able to pick up at about $500k per year.

I also can't see anything from AD except a walk out the door at the end of the year. He was never quick and after a 3rd ACL he'll be downright slow. He won't be able to handle the centres. 2nd row is about all he could play now and we'll be able to get better cheaper. Our current crop, while not...

Match Discussion: Round 7 vs Penrith @ Carrington Park, Bathurst / Wiradjuri

Probs the best team we can field at the moment. The bench is quite light on for size, but that appears to be the norm. This is the type of game we usually fire up for and put in a decent effort. And that the Panther drop down to our level.

    Rest of NRL

I don't think the club is allowed. I believe they used to but the NRL somehow got wise to the fact the club, via the coaches, were instructing the players to do these things. I think the idea of the player paying it was to ensure complete accountability

Match Discussion: Round 6 vs St Geo Illa @ Campbelltown Sports Stadium, Leumeah / Dharawal

He's been disappointing all right. Started off like a house on fire last year and was a bit of a point of difference compared to rest of the pack as far as his skills went. His production fell off towards the end of the year though. This year he's been a liability. He has had very limited...

    West Tigers club news

Macnaz I'm laughing with you not at you. I agree I think the club has gotten to the point where it can't be fixed and everyone would be better off if it just f**ked off. Since 1990 there have been 34 seasons and we have made made the semis 3 times. I'm including this year as I think it's...

Match Discussion: Round 6 vs St Geo Illa @ Campbelltown Sports Stadium, Leumeah / Dharawal

That was easily the worst game of the season so far. Against Canberra you could see how much bigger their forwards were than ours. While the resulting smash up was disappointing it could be explained. Plus Canberra often make the finals and have a decent roster. Saints, like us, have been down...

Match Discussion: Round 6 vs St Geo Illa @ Campbelltown Sports Stadium, Leumeah / Dharawal

What a shit house effort in defence. This is back to close to the worst of the last 2 years. Lazy around the ruck, allowing off loads at will, and not numbering up out wide. That 1st try as soon as the game stared was diabolical. We look pedestrian at best in attack. The only saving grace is...

    Rest of NRL

It would seem so. Galvin with no form on the board got 2 weeks and he didn't leave his feet. Paps did leave his feet in a classic hip drop. Neither opposing player was significantly injured. Richardson should send an email to Annesley asking to address this discrepancy during his Monday...

    Rest of NRL

He did the 2 things you want from a fullback in attack. Support up the middle all night long, and return general play kicks when he has the ball in his hand as hard as he could. No dishing it off to others to do the hard work for you. If you do that all other good things are going to start...

I'm not really confident about this either. Having said that, Saints have shown, just like us, an inability to convert red zone territory into points. Saints have also shown though and inability to defend their line so I think that will be the deciding factor in a narrow tigers win. If Galvin...

Rumours (signings, sackings & other NRL stuff)

This will be a difficult one. If he's had injuries, which was also reported on NRL360 last night, he could make a case that these have contributed towards the weight gain through no fault of his own. I can see this possibly winding up in court, much like Hasler's exit has. I may seem to be...

Rumours (signings, sackings & other NRL stuff)

This just keeps on getting better and better. Meninga was a hopeless NRL coach 1st time around and he won't be any better this time. He's used to being in an environment where every player is elite, highly motivated, all pulling in the same direction, all paid the same, and the comp lasts 2...

Rumours (signings, sackings & other NRL stuff)

Just heard that Schuster has 3 years left with Manly at $800K starting next year. Apparently he hasn't been released, but they've told him he's not in their plans and to find another club. That's all well and good for Manly. Although contracts aren't worth much anymore, they still are a...
