    Building the next NZ team

New Zealand 2 will have a world class stadium and go a long way toward cementing NRL's place at the number one sports league in New Zealand. The player base is just one part of the equation. But if you were judging on this metric alone, I'd go with NZ over WA simply because NZ has much more...

Cultural clean out. Useless bodies clean out. Declining revenue clean out. Pretty much as the article says.

This seems like an odd hill for someone from Perth to die on.

2024 TV and Streaming Ratings Discussion

It sounds like we'll have 3 origin rounds with Women's/Under 19's on Thursday nights and Men's on Monday night, with a couple of NRL games sandwiched in between. The origin round crowds and ratings have been great this year. The move will effectively mean only 3 rounds are affected by Origin...

    18th club, whose next?

Bring in Perth Jets and Perth Bears. Problem solved. Perth Red gets to pick between two transplanted Sydney teams. 11 home games at North Sydney Oval. 11 home games at Henson Park. 2 home games in Perth.

    WA BEARS

The Bears have pretty much said they're willing to go anywhere. A New Zealand bid with a new stadium, a junior base, existing NRL awareness and a chance knocking down Rugby Union a couple of pegs is already a very appealing prospects. A second New Zealand team could trump the Perth Whatevers...

Brisbane Tigers make their bid to be 18th team

I read a book that went into Ken Arthurson's plans. He said when Sydney clubs failed financially or didn't meet crowd goals etc, they'd merge or relocate. It definitely would have been in a more logical manner than the post-Super League compromise.

    WA BEARS

It's quite clearly a competitive bid process and no single bid has it in the bag, regardless of what Perth fans, PNG fans, East Tigers fans or NZ2 fans think. If Perth thinks that they're hot shit and can state demands then they may end up empty handed. The same goes for the Bears and the others...

Brisbane Tigers make their bid to be 18th team

If Super League had never happened, the ARL would have forced the relocation of a bunch of Sydney teams. Bears and Sharks would likely both had been relocated.

    WA BEARS

Perth aren't in a position to dictate terms. Neither are there Bears. If Vlandys want the Perth Bears, it will be the Perth Bears. If Vlandys doesn't want to give the Perth Whatevers a team because a new franchise is too risky, then there's no Perth team. And if Perth are too stubborn, it...

    Welcome to the comp, Redcliffe.

Don't you remember? About 20 years ago they held that parade for that guy who successfully managed to convince someone else on the internet to agree with him. That was the last time.
