    NRL Salary Cap/CBA -2023 - 2027

I don't know why they don't start now. Target some Saffa and Kiwi backs. European rugby too once salary cap is in that vicinity.

"The salary cap will be $900,000 this season before rising to as much as $1.518 million at the end of the CBA in 2027. Minimum salaries will also rise from $30,000 in 2023 to $50,600 by the end of the cycle." I would expect this level of editing / review from News Ltd.

It's a good point re cricket but I wonder, for various reasons, whether this is isolated to cricket or other sports as well. 2022 Financial Reports

Yeah hopefully but don't have the visibility for the NRL team separate from the leagues club. As for $10m profit, being a recreational club recession and inflation will be a challenge this year. Long term hopefully they are expanding asset base and diversifying their revenue base.

    2022 Financial Reports

A couple of observations: 1. Parra Leagues is separate from Parra Eels. Wonder if NRL side by itself is viable. 2. Parra Leagues has $54m of revenue from Poker Machines. More than 50% of it's total revenue. Wonder what impact the new NSW cashless cards will have on this going forward and IF...

    Peter V'landys - New NRL/ARLC Chairman

Outside of these forums, there's no such discussion about AFL either. The biggest thing I hear these days is about how rugby union is a mess and dying. Other codes just exist in the typical Sydney ether and rank below some nose beers, property prices and the beach as our obsessions.
