    Round 18 - Bulldogs vs Rabbitohs @ ANZ, Saturday 14th July, 3pm

It was a long time ago when I was a kid at High School & I never followed AFL;had no idea about the game-----we had a small number of kids though in our 1st 15[about 2]who played AFL & RL on the weekend-----I can remember that AFL was played on Erskinville Oval & a very minor sport in Sydney...

    Round 18 - Bulldogs vs Rabbitohs @ ANZ, Saturday 14th July, 3pm

Merritt should have been selected in SOO,IMO, whilst in his prime, years before he was----he was the NRL's leading tryscorer over a very long period--even scored the most tries when we collected the wooden spoon.I believe he was crucified in SOO!!

    Round 18 - Bulldogs vs Rabbitohs @ ANZ, Saturday 14th July, 3pm

I think it was The OPTUS Cup;the main sponsor for one year only in 1996????!!!! Confusing----- it was the Winfield Cup prior to that!! The WC was NOT a cup;it was the Provan/Summons Trophy--- therefore the Provan/Summons statue goes back to 1982.

    Round 18 - Bulldogs vs Rabbitohs @ ANZ, Saturday 14th July, 3pm

As far as I can research the main award is the Giltinan Shield! I've found evidence though that the main trophy is the Provan/summons--I'm confused! Sorry, the Giltinan Shield goes to the minor prems!! You are correct. I think the Provan/Summons since 1997.

    Round 18 - Bulldogs vs Rabbitohs @ ANZ, Saturday 14th July, 3pm

I think from research that from 1908 the P/ship trophy was-- "The Royal Agricultural Society Shield or RAS Shield;as it was called! In 1934 it became the "Labor Daily Cup." In 1951 it evolved to the "Giltinan Shield";as it is today! But from 1982 to 1995 it was "The Winfield Cup."[won by...

    Round 18 - Bulldogs vs Rabbitohs @ ANZ, Saturday 14th July, 3pm

It's definitely an AFL thing;the FLAG! The Poms play Soccer for a CUP??? The individual players get a p/ship ring in RL---the teams over the years have held up a cup[Winfield Cup for eg] or a shield!?

    Round 18 - Bulldogs vs Rabbitohs @ ANZ, Saturday 14th July, 3pm

Yeah--"the FLAG." Bit too English for you Pom!!???? Do they play for a "flag" in the "Motherland ?" Back in the 50s/60s we used to talk about winning the "flag."ie winning the comp------back when I was a kid!! Don't remember ever seeing that "flag" even though Sths won plenty!

    Round 18 - Bulldogs vs Rabbitohs @ ANZ, Saturday 14th July, 3pm

I reckon we're big favourites to win the flag as we are a genuine team---coach,players & the whole staff & footy community working closely together! We're SPECIALS!! Number 22 on the way!!

    Leading the comp

Madge's style was never going to work long-term!! Seibold has Sths playing in a way[much much better] than they could ever under Madge--even when we were winning back in 2014 & prior!! This present side is going great guns now & I believe they can go to another level, if, & when required...

Its Time To Sell The Injured Adam Reynolds

Kicking, under Maguire, was his whole game---he is doing it all now with lesser emphasis on kicking. His concentration was wholly on his kicking game but now he is the complete half. He is a far better player this season than in the previous few!

    Rabbitohs rumours, signings, injuries etc

GI will want to play against his old club on 3rd AUG!! He will have approx. 850 hrs of healing time---let's hope that's enough time!!

    Rabbitohs rumours, signings, injuries etc

Going by your picture mate I thought you would go for the spartan,BLACK KNIGHT approach!! You're right, of course, but I reckon GI would still be good!! GI thought himself that it was only a minor injury & that's why he stayed on the field! He was shocked to find it was broken. "TIS BUT A...

    Rabbitohs rumours, signings, injuries etc

No---have broken fingers playing cricket--never missed a game due to it though--& that's playing 1st grade equivalent of RL in Sydney in the summer season!! I hope GIs not too bad with it & demands to play!! GI could catch footy balls in his mouth with his eyes shut--his presence on field is...
