Match Discussion: Round 17 vs Parramatta @ McDonald Jones Stadium, New Lambton / Awabakal

Greg just isn't improving at all this year. Consistently coming up with clangers.

Match Discussion: Round 17 vs Parramatta @ McDonald Jones Stadium, New Lambton / Awabakal

It's outrageous that they couldn't stop Sivo there. I think he scored, we're lucky it went up as no try.

Match Discussion: Round 17 vs Parramatta @ McDonald Jones Stadium, New Lambton / Awabakal

He's looking very nervous, but seems to hit the boot with his ball quite sweetly.

Match Discussion: Round 17 vs Parramatta @ McDonald Jones Stadium, New Lambton / Awabakal

He somehow found a way to get stuck in no-mans-land with about 3m of space to work with.

Match Discussion: Round 17 vs Parramatta @ McDonald Jones Stadium, New Lambton / Awabakal

God we look so so disorganised. Hastings really has to step up here because he's got 2 rookies with him in the spine and Phoenix Crossland at dummy half. He's the only one out there qualified to steer the ship.

Match Discussion: Round 17 vs Parramatta @ McDonald Jones Stadium, New Lambton / Awabakal

Possibly, but I think we want him to run a lot. Our ball control is really shit here early on. Not good enough.

Match Discussion: Round 17 vs Parramatta @ McDonald Jones Stadium, New Lambton / Awabakal

Well, Hastings needed to take control of that set and it just went completely to shit.

    Rumoured Targets 3

Oh I wouldn't say I'm confident, I'm just not slamming the door shut on the idea yet either. Agree, this week is a must win. Moses could be red hot, or he could be a bit flat. We probably need to jag another one without KP too so that the task isn't insurmountable if we do go on another tear...

Match Discussion: Round 17 vs Parramatta @ McDonald Jones Stadium, New Lambton / Awabakal

I would say 99% that Sharpe will go back to cup once KP is back. Tuala is a coach favourite and always does well enough to not be our worst on park in any given game. Unexciting but dependable. Sharpe by then will have had his taste of firsts and probably be ready to drop back for a rest anyway...

    Rumoured Targets 3

I'm not so sure the season is done if KP can come back and take us on another tear. Need at least one more game without him, maybe two.

    Around the Grounds

Yep. All of this. Honestly I feel like we've over achieved since we lost both Kalyn and Gamble. There's still a lot to fix even with them in the team, but having them both out amplifies all those problems x10. You take half of most teams spine out for most of the year they'll struggle. Look at...

Match Discussion: Round 17 vs Parramatta @ McDonald Jones Stadium, New Lambton / Awabakal

I would say the benefits of Braileys service gap over Crossland have become questionable when he's such a non-player in every other area now. Basically, I think it's 6 one way, half a dozen the other at this point. What Crossland brings that Brails can't is energy. Brails at this stage looks...

Match Discussion: Round 17 vs Parramatta @ McDonald Jones Stadium, New Lambton / Awabakal

He's held back because his form has been shaky and his defence very questionable. I haven't seen much cup this year, but from reports it has sounded like he's been trying to do too much and pull off the hero play with every touch. Could get us in a mountain of trouble in first grade, or he could...

Match Discussion: Round 17 vs Parramatta @ McDonald Jones Stadium, New Lambton / Awabakal

A bit slow on them sometimes from the outside looking in, but yeah when changes have needed to be made, they've generally been coming.

    Rumoured Targets 3

Because he's a good bloke mate, and we hitched our ride to him as a leader and captain very very early on. We then stuck our fingers in our ears and hoped it'll all sort itself out for a few years. I swear we go all-in on players as a club way too often, well before they've earned that right -...

Match Discussion: Round 17 vs Parramatta @ McDonald Jones Stadium, New Lambton / Awabakal

I kinda think we're beyond worrying about how well he goes, and just accepting that we need a change and to roll the dice. That's where I'm at anyway, but I'm sure the knives and outrage will come out pretty quickly again from facebook groups. There's a lot to like about Pryce, but yeah he's an...

    Rumoured Targets 3

We seem to like buying the "cheap" version of players, but still paying them close to their contemporaries that are much better. It's like, maybe if we pay Adam Elliott like Cam Murray, he'll start playing like Cam Murray? We pay blokes on what they might do for us, rather than what they've...

    Rumoured Targets 3

I'll say. That core of DSaf, Brails and Hastings is a money pit with very very low return. Been impressed with KPP but i'd say he should be pulling his socks up a bit higher next year to deliver on his contract too.

    Jack Cogger

I would say he was recruited as backup/3rd option, but expected that he would put pressure on the incumbents too.

    Jack Cogger

Oh yeah of course they know, and I do have a spot of sympathy for him too. He took a chance and believed in himself that he could beat out our current half options and find a first grade spot. Sadly, our club was stupid enough to believe that was viable too. It's honestly not on Jack that this...
