Where Will Penrith Finish In 2021?

Im confident in us finishing top 2. I see more improvement out of Nathan and Luai, individually and as a halves combination, to keep us near the top of the table this season. But if a another team like Souths goes on a winning run and leap frogs us in the top 2, then I see top 4 as worse case.

    2021 season

Six Panthers players have been selected in the 2021 Blues Emerging Player squad, the most by any club. These are Staines, Leniu, Leota, Martin, May and To'o. Plus 2 ex Panthers, Blore and Hetherington. https://www.nrl.com/news/2021/01/29/schoolboy-suaalii-named-in-emerging-blues-origin-squad/

Rumoured and Confirmed signings - Part 4

With the exception being Matt Moylan and the attitude he returned with after being in Origin camp

Rumoured and Confirmed signings - Part 4

Agreed. He is able to get very good performances out of average players. He was able to get his below average 2018 Tigers roster to beat the Storm twice and Roosters once a good example.

Rumoured and Confirmed signings - Part 4

Cini would be for cover at centre during Nadens suspension, not to replace Tetevano in the forwards. Tetevano leaving just gives us some cap space to get another centre.

    Former Panthers in the NRL

The relevant bit to the Panthers was in the story, as she was part of the busted drug ring that included Michael Gordon. Bet you just looked at her pictures, and didn’t read the article! “Ms Noakes was arrested along with six others including former NRL player and Gold Coast Titans specialist...

Rumoured and Confirmed signings - Part 4

From memory, didn’t the NRL abolish the cooling off period from contracts after the DCE Gold Coast / Manly backflip fiasco?

Rumoured and Confirmed signings - Part 4

From the Panthers training photos, Rob Jennings is looking fit and buff for first week of preseason. I know his signing copped some flack, but I think he was a good low cost depth signing, and is an option to cover centre during Nadens suspension if we don’t sign another centre. His 19 tries...

Rumoured and Confirmed signings - Part 4

Does anyone know if Mansour was at preseason training this week? He wasn't in any of the training photos on the Panthers site. If not, could be confirmation that he has reached agreement with another club.

Rumoured and Confirmed signings - Part 4

He was named the 2019 NSWRL Jersey Flegg Player of the Year though, so probably didn’t have too many injuries last year. How far back are you saying he was injury prone?

Rumoured and Confirmed signings - Part 4

So are you saying the success this season of 17 straight wins and making the grand final are because of Barrett, and not Cleary?

    NSW Origin

He might have a slight chance of making it into the team even if there are no injuries, as a bench utility. According to nrl.com, Fittler is considering adding a utility to the bench in place of a forward. Would be awesome to see him and Nathan carving up QLD together...

Rumoured and Confirmed signings - Part 4

The other real positive to that storey is that he is honouring the commitment he gave to the $500,000 a season deal even though his value has increased since then. Shows his character, and also the strength of the culture at the club created this year.

Rumoured and Confirmed signings - Part 4

The reason for the delay in announcing Crichton’s resigning is because he is waiting until after Oct 30 when his current management deal expires before signing a new contract. https://www.smh.com.au/sport/nrl/he-can-be-an-immortal-skipper-s-ultimate-compliment-for-cleary-20201018-p56642.html...

    GF Panthers vs Storm

I get where you are coming from. But I just don’t think it was about tricks and fancy coaching moves. He decided to start May at centre to nullify Walker and the potent Souths left side attack, that’s pretty much it, The dropping of Leniu for Kenny was forced due to illness, and as...

    GF Panthers vs Storm

Souths had scored 144 points in their last 3 games with most of their tries from their left edge. Ivan’s tinkering with the centre position helped restrict them to only 16 points, plus May scored a try and played a key role in another. Ivan’s changes worked, we won, and now in a grand final!

The rise of the Penny Panthers

Crichton. He only played 4 games last season, so is still eligible. I have him as a certainty to win it, but then again I’m an extremely biased Panthers supporter...

The rise of the Penny Panthers

Given all the success this season, we should hopefully win the following on Monday nights Dally M awards: - Dally M medal winner - Best Coach - Best Halfback - Best Hooker - Rookie OTY Other slight chances of winning: Best Prop, Best Lock, Best interchange player

    NSW Origin

Leota a strong chance as well, as Fittler has been quoted saying he is being being considered for a spot in the squad

    PF2 Panthers vs Rabbits

Hetherington was one of the two cut yesterday. So if Leniu was sick today, Kenny was the forward left to bring in to the 17.
