    Opinion Penrith

So basically they are selling their fan’s info to each other and trying to make it sound like a positive…. It is honestly a good idea. The seasons don’t overlap and it is basically the same demographic. Clever idea

    Paul Vautin - Gooorrrrnnn

Fatty was pretty much past his use-by date by about 2008. His style never left the 90s, and for a pop entertainment show entering the iphone/youtube era, he just got old. but back in his day, he was the very best!

    Peter V'landys - New NRL/ARLC Chairman

I actually think it is a great idea (assuming we cut the salary cap by that proportion) put the extra cash into rep payments and promote that to players as the way to make the extra money.

Rugby Australia to target top NRL talent

the requirement I would add is that the players cant be Australian. you dont want to create a negative incentive to push younger Aussie kids to union in the hope of getting into the nrl through a special pathway

Rugby Australia to target top NRL talent

Loads of Saffa kids would want to migrate (probably a decent opportunity for Latin American kids too). I wonder what the visa situation would be. From what I understand, clubs have a tough time getting visas for PNG kids, i assume this would be a similar issue.

    The Game 2025 Membership

Rubbish! Grab all the sign ups you can get! the only people who care they are not paying are the club finance guy and terminally online whingers. half the reason for following a team is feeling like you are part of a community. Better to be one of 60k than one of 600. Whats the problem?

    PNG's back.

Ok, they this one on. 4 groups of 5. Each group has 3-4 clusters around a core and only 2 “outsider teams” Brisbane-Centric (obvious) 1. Brisbane Broncos 2. Gold Coast Titans 3. Dolphins + 4. North Queensland Cowboys 5. PNG (Papua New Guinea) South Sydney...

    PNG's back.

That would be my guess. If travel for the Sydney and reduced at all I expected wouldn’t be very much. Melbourne, New Zealand North Queensland and Papua New Guinea will always have to travel a lot. That’s just the reality of having a team base there

    PNG's back.

My problem with the top two is that it might become very obvious very early who is going to win and who will not. At least with the top three more chance to make it through while still getting an advantage. Mixing all of the finalist into a general final theory would be okay but you’d miss out...

    PNG's back.

I actually agree with you on that, you could almost do a random selection and as long as the conferences stay the same and the teams with these conferences are directly knocking each other out of each final series, these rivalries would become massive very quickly I think the spread you...

    PNG's back.

That is a very nice split! It doesn’t capture every rivalry, but I don’t think it needs to. And with time it would build up some killer new rivalries. I do still think that the key would be some kind of final system with the top three knockout and only one from each conference going through...

    PNG's back.

That’s always going to be the reality. I’d be interested to see how much teams would actually suffer from this For example Perth will need to fly for every home game so it is a four hour trip to Sydney so much better than a six hour trip to New Zealand. Even if it is it would only be maybe two...

    PNG's back.

No System is perfect. All you can do is prioritise somethings over others. I personally don’t see a huge value in balancing travel schedules. I would much rather see a focus on rivalries. The great thing about a conference system(under the potential final season that can be built off that) is...

    PNG's back.

That doesn’t show the quality it just change it. If all of the teams only play each other once then you’ll only need to travel to visit part of the team. Then we will just get complaints about needing to travel to New Zealand and New Guinea instead of posting You would also lose lots of the...

    PNG's back.

^^^ This would guarantee that something like 1 in 3 matches is a conference match and the finals knock-out would build those rivalries every year!

    PNG's back.

Id go 4 groups of 5 East Sydney (Victor Trumper Shield) 1. South Sydney Rabbitohs 2. St George Illawarra Dragons 3. Sydney Roosters 4. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles 5. Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks West Sydney (JJ Giltinan Shield?) 1. Canterbury-Bankstown...

    Bid names

Every country defines itself in relation to an important neighbour (you give definition to a thing by comparisons, figuring out what it is and what it is not) - Australian conservatives are defined by their love of England and America. - NZ is defined by being almost Australia, but a bit...

I would have more faith in the “vote from 4 choices” process. This “blank slate, suggest anything” is obviously just an artificial fan engagement exercise.

    2025 NRL Jerseys, Sponsorship, Logos

Beautiful! the club people are just rubbing in the fact that they CAN make a great jersey and CHOOSE to run the team out in a piece of crap.

Haha we are falling through a meta rabbit hole… if that is true, what is the point of saying it?
