It most certainly will, clubs want 12 home games a season, can't do that in a 22 round comp, have to be 11 home games to achieve that, besides only the cream of the crop get selected for state of origin, the rest (the bulk) get a rest anyways, same as finals half the comp rests for a month before heading into an Pacific championship, these guys pleading the athletes case are only using the 1% who want to be there anyways, its complete garbage, and another negotiation tactic to get more money for less work, same greedy pigs at the troph, just like last time

They need to reduce the preseason way down. No need for them to be back training in October training for 5 months. They should be at university, Tafe, travelling or getting work experience.

I actually think it is a great idea (assuming we cut the salary cap by that proportion)

put the extra cash into rep payments and promote that to players as the way to make the extra money.
