Match Discussion: Round 19 vs Sydney @ Sunshine Coast Stadium

"What a load of crap" is a good summary of this post. So we've got no players with pride in the jumper? Amazing we've won any games at all this year. You'd think clubs with millions of dollars to spend on the roster could find guys who try hard. You'd think guys who've dedicated their lives to...

Match Discussion: Round 19 vs Sydney @ Sunshine Coast Stadium

But if everybody fails at building this, surely you have to then admit that it's actually much harder than you make it sound? Otherwise where are all these "very good coaches"? Are they just sitting on the couch at home? Or are there actually only a handful of them in the country in the first...

Match Discussion: Round 19 vs Sydney @ Sunshine Coast Stadium

This is a perfectly fair response, and I don't disagree. Although would say that "this isn't a well coached team" is hard to divorce from "this is a very hard team to coach". Your Sharks example didn't win the premiership missing half their spine for the year, and got the benefit of paying above...

Match Discussion: Round 19 vs Sydney @ Sunshine Coast Stadium

Mate we're 10th. And 2 points off 7th. Despite spending most of the year missing our 2 most important players. I'm not happy with where we are, and I don't think we're playing well. But if we don't look like we've ever seen a football field, and don't have a crack, then you can level a similar...

Match Discussion: Round 19 vs Sydney @ Sunshine Coast Stadium

Serious question, (and nobody here is going to want to hear this after another loss) but can you give me an example of a coach who has been able to come into a club like ours (i.e. not a big money salary cap sombrero) and completely turn the organisation around within a couple of years? Outside...

Match Discussion: Round 19 vs Sydney @ Sunshine Coast Stadium

Cliff hasn't had a good game tonight. But it's hard to be too critical longer-term. He's a young kid, and just isn't ready to basically play as the only half. When Crossland was getting minutes earlier in the year, I was critical of Pearce of not letting him do anything (kick, play at first...

Match Discussion: Round 19 vs Sydney @ Sunshine Coast Stadium

I don't know why Young is ahead of Toa or Sasagi to be honest, and I would have said the same before tonight. Young never covers the tips of the ball when he brings the ball back - either the coaches aren't doing their job or he isn't listening.

    Rumoured Targets 3

Is there one option in his favour for 2023 AND 2024, or does he have an option for 2023 then another option 12 months later for 2024?

Match Discussion: Round 18 vs Melbourne @ AAMI Park

Or that there had been a fundamental change in the game from 3 years ago to today... But I'm sure it's just that Bellamy has become a much better coach since 2018. Amazing improvement given how good he already was!

Match Discussion: Round 18 vs Melbourne @ AAMI Park

Definitely hope we don't resign Watson to play the roving middle-forward role off the bench (which he's been really good at), because he isn't a good fullback. Think resigning the Saifitis was a mistake too - can't imagine they'd be good playing #1...

Think you're potentially conflating posters. I was never arguing for that

They've had him for more than a decade - they had him plus Slater, Cronk and Smith... Did he suddenly get much better this year? Or has something else fundamentally changed?

Match Discussion: Round 18 vs Melbourne @ AAMI Park

That's unfortunately not how the game works anymore - or at least, it's so much harder to stay within 10-20. This Storm team just beat the Roosters 46-0, the week before they almost broke the record for the most points ever scored against the Tigers. They're going to demolish the records for...

For anyone who thinks PVL hasn't made this sport 100x worse - tonight is example 1A. I reckon league went pretty well from 1908-2018...

What's the story with Sue not being picked, again? Would handle DSaf out much better if we could run him as a prop for 20 minutes

    2021 Knights rep players

It's not unfair. I didn't say he doesn't try hard for us - in fact, I've said the exact opposite in previous posts. But he doesn't lock in quite the same way. Rewatch his reaction to the QLD tries, or the way he responded when Muster got tackled over the sideline. Can't argue it's the same...
