Really liking how physicality, matching the Rooster. I think we lack a bit or direction and belief. We find ourself 8-0 and then get confused because we don't often lead...

Hopefully we get both the Saifitis on for most of the second forty.

It's a small thing in the context of the game but Brailey booting it dead from 5m out frustrates me no end
That's the real game changer for me. Completely swung momentum and then we had a couple of capitulations after that.

Mann's botched try also.

I dislike taking the soft option of a penalty goal but we should have taken it to go up by 10. More pressure on them and we get something.

Definitely many key moments in that half.

Tedesco is a freak and a winner. Worst goal kicker in the league, knows he needs to make one from the sideline to get his team in front, bamn smashes it in. That's a winner right there and probably what we lack most in the squad. We got some decent leaders but no winning leaders.

Very winnable game from here but should have capitalised more on the opportunities early
It's winnable in the sense that we're in the game... I just don't really see how we execute it. We're so hopeless at our ball movement without Pearce organising our shape and being first receiver. It's painful watching the ball go from Brailey to X to whoever at the moment. Brails service hasn't been great tonight unfortunately, and it's made even worse when the next pass sucks too. Everything just falls apart play after play from those 2 key passes.

I don't know why Young is ahead of Toa or Sasagi to be honest, and I would have said the same before tonight.

Young never covers the tips of the ball when he brings the ball back - either the coaches aren't doing their job or he isn't listening.

But I don't want him running to the line then throwing it at youngs knees inside our 20m line either
No you don’t, but handing it off to your massive winger on play one should be an acceptable option. It’s more a Young job than a Ponga job. The problem is that Young is 50-50 to catch it, run it, not given driven backwards and not lose it or have it stripped. If Ponga hits that up for a smashing 10 extra times I’m the game there is no value there for the team. It might make fans happy to see the intent, but at the end of the day we need a fresh Ponga using that 10% of juice to make a real difference at the other end of the field. I get that people hate it, but it’s fine if your wingers are tough and reliable.

At least we are in it this week. Last week we were staring down 60-0 at half time. Let's get some positivity back in here. (before it all gets swiped out by a drop ball from kick off)

We're just disorganized and sloppy. Combine that with a few errors and yeah, this is what we get. At least we've had a dig for a full half.

Yeah this. We haven’t taken our chances and we gradually got worse and worse. We’re a team that needs the scoreboard to fully reflect the momentum of the game, because we’re not resilient. When we didn’t score another try I honestly would have bet the farm on being behind at half time. Completely different game if we get to 14-0 with our tails up. We were sloppy.

Yeah I'm legit. It's not the first game he's done this.

How injured is he? He's looked good in other aspects of the game and sprinted hard in cover.

I said it's on Young but I can't stand when Ponga unloads the ball more than he returns it.

He’s clearly injured in the warm up but been told to try get out there and play in a dinner suit. We are better off with him out there ginger than Hoy and we need to win.

I’m glad he’s covering hard, because those are the moments you have to put your body on the line. You have no choice there, it’s different.

Ponga can’t wait to see an opening when we are attacking, Roosters are good defensively and won’t give it to you, he needs to get his hands on the ball and create the opening. I get he is injured, but without him getting involved, we will not score enough points to win.

Honestly needs to be dropped, i know NSW cup is off at the moment, but this is no place to be learning your trade, hopefully with best back next week he can be put out of his misery, is obviously talented, but he has zero defensive awareness, he will be a lot better with experience, but his inexperience is killing us, all the points in the first half can be contributed to him.

Not just a criticism of AOB and the Knights, but does anyone else feel that ordinary coaching is holding back a lot of teams and the gap wouldn’t be quite as big between the top teams and the rest if teams like ours could execute that little bit better and sharper?

Defence starts with attack and controlling the game. When I watch us and many other lower teams I see potential to be good, but it’s a gradual grind of poor execution and silly decisions that end up costing them. It’s not that there’s no talent to work with.

I don’t know, I think I would just feel personally as a current coach that it’s my job to build that sharpness. Brian Smith with this squad? Top 6 easily.

Likewise. Because I think if you do manage to get more of those moments right you win a lot of games. That’s what I mean about game management and the lesser teams not being as far away id they could fix up that stuff.

If we played smart we would win this game, I have no doubt. But we don’t and we won’t.
