    Coaching preference for 2024

Ryles has a contract with the Roosters until the end of 2024. Depending on different reports and who you listen to, whilst Ryles might be the man the club wants, he may not become available until 2025.

    R6 Titans

Good on you jeffdragon for getting us underway again for round 6. This game away, Raiders the following weekend away are very winnable for us as a lead in to the Anzac Day game. Need to build on tonight's performance with another 2 wins in preparation for the Roosters.

    Round 5 Unfortunately.

Nothing unfortunate about round 5, 2023.

KOE (ex Canterbury Cup) and Jersey Flegg

    The Rumours Thread

Sounds like we are well covered for utility style players in Herring and Turner. Hopefully with a new coach coming in the near future, it will be time to say goodbye to Mybe. Better still the extra money in our cap with anywhere between $750k and $900k to spend elsewhere.

    The Rumours Thread

From the limited vision I have seen of Zac Herring, he looks like a player with plenty of talent. I remember an article in the Telegraph in the off season saying the Dragons had signed the best up and coming number 7, but because it was behind a pay wall, never found out his name. Possibly...

I don't doubt that randomdragon. We seem to have been very active in that space, more so for the SG Ball teams. Several good forward prospects in both teams at present.

    Coaching preference for 2024

Hasler for mine. Think there is more of an upside to an experienced premiership winning coach. Would like to think he would also be more of an attraction for bringing desperately needed new blood into our club. Would also like to see Scott Fulton join us as the new recruitment manager.

So another up and coming junior gone in James Walsh. Looked like he was making a solid transition from the centres to the second row. Scored a really good try last weekend after a very determined run beating several defenders.

    Round 5 Unfortunately.

This team seems to come up with a win when you least expect it, especially following a heavy loss or two. Would not surprise me if they beat the Dolphins, or at least put in a much improved performance. Dragons also seem to like playing at Wollongong (most of the time).

    The Rumours Thread

Our once great club very sadly continues to make itself a very easy target for the media pack. Personally, I think Griffin will be gone sometime in April. Awfully tough gig for an interim coach to come in and see out the rest of season 2023. I can see one of three options. Hasler is available...

Latest from Buzz Rothfield. Griffin has 6 weeks to save his job.

    The Rumours Thread

I think Lomax has ongoing issues with his hand, specifically broken and fractured thumb on his right hand in the past. Maybe time to drop him, or rest him to get things right and give Max Feagai a chance. Plus his goal kicking style needs to revert back to what is was as well.

    Sack Griffin

I think because we have gotten used to the consistent level of mediocrity it is easy to overlook what a new coach could bring to the club. There never seems to be a lack of candidates when the head coach role at the Dragons becomes available. Bring in a Hasler in the next month or so and things...

    Woods swap for Tuitavake

Opportunity and an increased pay packet will help ease any apprehension. Who knows, they might already know our new coach already when he is appointed??

    The Rumours Thread

Buzz Rothfield is the one who has been pushing the story about the 2 Manly players coming to the Dragons from day one. The update about the player swap with Woods broke mid morning so missed today's paper. I am sure the updated story will appear in the Sunday Telegraph tomorrow.

    Woods swap for Tuitavake

Viliami Fifita also not playing for the Manly KOE team today after being named on the bench earlier in the week.

    The Rumours Thread

Love the way it works in rugby league. The media break the news of the original signings, Dragons as always stay quiet, Manly come out with a flat denial. A few weeks pass, now this wonderful news breaks. Just waiting now for something official from the club so we can all go out and celebrate.

    Sack Griffin

There is an upside and downside to all of the possible coach candidates for 2024. A big plus is Hasler is available to take over immediately. No issues with breaking a current contract. Personally, I like the look of a Hasler head coach and Scott Fulton in charge of our recruitment combination.

    Dragons V Sharks Round 4

It is a reflection on what the club sees as important in the whole scheme of things. Talk in the off season that we were looking at pulling our Jersey Flegg team altogether from competition in 2023. Then the appointment of a part time coach for the KOE team. There seems to be a much greater...
