How predictable. An Eels forward pass for a try wins them the game.

The AFL will be doing their best to bury this but as many lawyers are apparently already involved and the AFL flush with cash I very much doubt they will be able to set up some dodgy sham investigation like they did with the Essendon peptides drama which back fired badly on them when a real...

Seven will bid if for no other reason than to force up how much their main competitor Nein has to fork out. Similiar to what Nein did to Seven in the recent AFL negotiations.

Some pertinent quotes from this article. "Nine’s recent media rights decisions have now directly funded the NRL’s opposition sports in both the AFL and rugby union. Nine paid $100 million to rugby union for three years broadcasting rights while seeking reductions from the NRL for reduced...

Gee I hate watching games reffed by Klein. The play the ball speed is just glacial at times.

To be honest the Lions have struggled with nearly ten years of losses till just recently and are only still around because of substantial bail outs from the AFL. Their ratings after all this time in Brisbane are still pretty abysmal compared to the Broncos.

Yep this is the scary part. If any funding can be achieved it must go to funding grass roots participation and not get sucked up by the clubs so they can pay out millions to coaches sacked before their contract is up.

Yep. Bit like the 5 capital cities nonsense which ignores for example that QLD has as many people who live outside the capital as in the capital so ignores viewer numbers which are equivalent to Perth and bigger than Adelaide.

So lets compare the AFL World Cup with the Rugby League World Cup shall we. The AFL version would consist of two Melbourne suburbs playing each other where as the Rugby League version would be players representing their country like New Zealand V England. For the benefit of our AFL troll the...

It doesn't look legally like the NRL have a leg to stand on regarding compensation but if Fox feel the need to throw some money our way to placate the NRL then they cannot agree to an extra amount of say $5-10 million per season with any extra conditions attached. If Fox try to attach conditions...

I'm all for Perth in 2028 but I don't agree that we won't catch up with the AFL for 2 decades. Fox and Nein have shown their hand now and the NRL just need to copy the AFL in how they did their deal. Hopefully we end up with Ten and Paramount and Nein becomes a distant third in their market.
