    Rationalisation of Sydney

They’re also one city teams who have a game every second week in their home city, and majority of the time are playing against a Sydney team.

    West Coast Pirates Bid News

Yeah, I see the point. As someone whose never lived in WA it’s hard for me to determine the support climate. I also agree that SE QLD is underepresented but still would have been cool to have a team in a market with 0 representation.

I prefer the West Coast or WA name over Perth. The previous 2 are more inclusive than just Perth. The club could always go with a name change later on if a second WA was ever to come in to play.... much like the Roosters, Warriors, Bulldogs, Tigers have all done previously.

    West Coast Pirates Bid News

I have to admit, the NRL made a bit of a blunder introducing the GC in 2007 over a WA team. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy that the GC have a team and SE QLD has a second club but would it really have been better for the game than a WA team at the time?

Hey Tito, I think you left your fishing rod out, mate (lol)

Todd Greenberg has pretty much said one Sydney team will be relocated.

To be totally fair though, it doesn’t say we need more Sydney/NSW teams either, just that it needs to fortify. This can still be done by a current team expanding its influence in untapped or under represented areas. It’s talking about going to those areas that currently have no representation...

http://the81stminute.com/2019/03/why-the-nrl-has-no-choice-but-to-bring-the-great-game-of-rugby-league-back-to-perth/ Found this article an ok read. Interested in other people’s thoughts.

Consolidation, reclamation and expansion with additional clubs in the NRL

PR, this is a good thing. Now the pessimistic chatter and unvalidated arguements can be kept in one spot and only have self-serving discussion rather than adult topical debate. (just kidding, guys. All tongue in cheek) All jokes aside, good idea to create this thread. Keep fighting the good...

    Rationalisation of Sydney

@titoelcolombiano My reply to you seems to be faulty. I just want to clarify, did you mean $2billion, not $2million?

Todd Greenberg has pretty much said one Sydney team will be relocated.

I agree with this. I think I said the exact same thing or similar in another thread only a day or 2 ago. The first two clubs will be new expansions, with the next bracket of expansion being 2 relocated clubs in 10-15 years to give the Sydney clubs every opportunity to sort themselves out...

Short answer is No. The Sharks don't really have much of a direct association anywhere outside the Sutherland Shire. The Dragons probably have more influence down that way or even Canberra.

Todd Greenberg has pretty much said one Sydney team will be relocated.

To be fair, I think this could happen "naturally" anyway with the addition of a Perth team. If the clubs have to fork out more money to fly west then some clubs won't be able to sustain it for much further into the future without help. This might be where you get your NZ2, Melb2, Adelaide, or...

You're right about the Eagles not going over to Perth but the Bulldogs could as the Western Bulldogs in the AFL are from Western Melbourne. Mainly around the Weribee area. The Bulldogs would just have to be the Perth Bulldogs rather than Western Bulldogs for licensing/TM laws.

    Rationalisation of Sydney

If we're talking about solely in Brisbane, I would argue that no Sydney team does well in Brisbane or has much support. Brisbane has always had that Us vs Them mentality and an ex-Sydney team wouldn't draw much support if it uprooted and went North. As someone who has lived in Brisbane and...

    Rationalisation of Sydney

No disrespect but I still don’t agree that CC would come before WA but I guess that’s where we’re always going to disagree. With everything that’s being said about needing to push into new areas I don’t see the NRL opting for CC unless another NSW/Sydney club were to collapse or relocate. New...

    Rationalisation of Sydney

I only say this based on a lot of the talk from the chiefs of the game basically indicating that Bris & WA are square in the sights of the NRL, not out of disrespect for your opinion.
