    Tyson Gamble

I feel like Gamble’s prior reputation will always cloud people’s perceptions of him, if you just watched him this season and knew nothing about him you’d come away thinking he’s a quality 5/8th just behind the top tier guys. I love his competitiveness and just how much of a dog he is. Last year...

    NRLW

Girls have been good in patches this year but haven’t really put together a complete 70 minute performance. I think the fact that we’ve not put in a complete performance and yet are 5-1 and sitting second on points differential shows the quality of the squad

    Around the Grounds

To be fair Ponga is kicking at 77% this season which is completely acceptable, especially compared to Hastings 57% and Miller 69%. Goal kicking seems to be something KP has been reluctant to do but given he’s our best kicker by a long stretch needs to just own the responsibility

Match Discussion: Round 26 vs Cronulla @ McDonald Jones Stadium, New Lambton / Awabakal

Lucas just looks like one of those players that’s going to give the defence more problems than he should based solely on size and speed, he breaks more tackles than he should

    Rumoured Targets 3

David Fifita who don’t get me wrong is damn quick for a forward but Miller gave him about a 5m head start and not only did Miller not make up any ground Fifita literally pulled away from him

Opinion Is Ricky Stuart the most overrated coach ever?

It’s funny he didn’t like the News Ltd cameras last night but didn’t have an issue with them waiting in the carpark of parra stadium when he moved on all those players

    Rumoured Targets 3

This, i think the thing is Miller is a player who likes to get his hands on the ball, likes to crab and look for gaps in the line, the way we play you need your wingers to hold their width and be in position to receive the ball

    Rumoured Targets 3

Miller has good acceleration but lacks actual speed. The game against the titans when he kicked the ball straight to David Fifita and Fifita ran 80m to score, he gave Fifita a 3m head start and Fifita actually ran away from him. Ponga literally came from the other side of the field and ran...

    Rumoured Targets 3

Not the biggest fan of Jones but if he’s player 28, 29 or 30 in your 30 man squad that’s fine.

    Rumoured Targets 3

You’re right, funny enough he never played wing in nsw cup only 2 first grade games. Doesn’t really strike me as a winger in terms of skill set though

    Rumoured Targets 3

Or that we should play him on the wing in Dom’s spot despite Miller never having played on the wing before. I’m impressed that Miller who’s not a local somehow cultivated his own cult in the space of 6 months

    Rumoured Targets 3

There’s no pleasing some people, we’re experiencing our best win streak in 20 years, Ponga has been the form player in the comp over the past 2 months, Hastings and Gamble playing well beyond their expectations and people are upset because a bloke who’s been here for 6 months has his feelings hurt

    Rumoured Targets 3

Got to love some of the Facebook fans, people seriously suggesting we should’ve kept Miller and developed him behind Ponga for when Ponga leaves, I mean it’s not a bad idea if you ignore the fact Miller will be in his mid-late 30s by then

    Rumoured Targets 3

He’s not even the best fullback in nsw cup, David Armstrong has him well and truly covered.

    Crossland appreciation thread

I kind of feel like we’ve seen the extent of Jones’ ability where as with Hethrington we’re only just scratching the surface. Although Jack can be a real liability I’m pretty sure the opposition would much rather be coming up against Brodie Jones than him

    Crossland appreciation thread

Yeah wouldn’t say it’s crisp but definitely much improved, he’s also starting to get a good feel for the position now and could genuinely leap frog Brailey next year which is definitely not something anyone would’ve predicted.

Tevita Pangai Junior quits NRL to take up boxing

100%, can’t believe some people acting like TPJ is so valuable a commodity that he had to hatch this plan to get away. His contract has been a disaster from the get go, let’s not pretend he’s Payne Haas or Tino where he’s got half the comp waiting to offer him a $1 mil a year deal, most teams...

Tevita Pangai Junior quits NRL to take up boxing

He’s on $750k, dogs would be celebrating getting him off the books.
