2019 RM Cup & Sydney Shield

The four this week were Matt Long, Jaz Flavell, Ben Jackson and Paul Rokolati. The latter two would’ve played for Glebe-Burwood if not for the bye. Getting fitness up. Uni have had some Sharks players this season (such as Zane Elsey) but seem to be light on at present. Glebe-Burwood have a...

2019 RM Cup & Sydney Shield

Only four of this weekend’s side are contracted to Glebe-Burwood. The weekly average is four. Of the players you’ve mentioned above, Jordan Chong-Sun, Brock Pelligra, Jaz Flavell, Paul Rokolati, Ben Jackson, Ben Pointer and Jackson Garlick are contracted to Glebe-Burwood, but only Brock and Jaz...

2019 RM Cup & Sydney Shield

Good win for Belrose. Hopefully they can snag a few more. There were only four Glebe Burwood contracted players in the Uni side (one of whom has never played for GBW) so very much a University squad.

2019 RM Cup & Sydney Shield

Yeah they were a little rusty at times, but then they hadn’t played for a month and it was the first time the full group had played together, so all things considered it was a solid performance. Lachlan Stein had a blinder, with Matt Jurd and Royce Tout strong up the middle. Luke Polselli and...

2019 RM Cup & Sydney Shield

Great effort from Sydney University to hold off a fast finishing Moorebank at Hammondville this afternoon. The Students led 26-10 at the break but Moorebank crossed three times in the second half to level the scores at 26-all with about 12 mins to play. Uni went ahead again with a penalty goal...

2019 RM Cup & Sydney Shield

12-13 players who ran out for Newtown yesterday were either Glebe-Burwood-contrasted or are trialling with the Dirty Reds, so we were a little undermanned today. But then Dubbo might have had a few out as well. It’s just the nature of a largely pre-season knock-out competition.

2019 RM Cup & Sydney Shield

Big tripleheader on at Wentworth Park tomorrow. Sydney University plays Ryde Eastwood at 115pm, then Glebe-Burwood take on North Sydney (Flegg) at 3pm, followed by Newtown v Norths (ISP) at 5. Adult tickets are $10, kids under 16 free.

2019 Canterbury Cup NSW & U20 Jersey Flegg

Is the 9 ISP broadcast switching to Sunday this year? I hadn’t heard that. Suspect that will cause some scheduling headaches for Newtown who have always played home games on Saturdays. From all reports, their games rated extremely well last year so no doubt 9 will want to feature them heavily...

2019 RM Cup & Sydney Shield

Don’t want to preempt the release of the official Challenge Cup draw by the NSWRL, but Glebe-Burwood are now playing another side in round 1 of the Challenge Cup on Feb 9/10 as the Wentworth Park game was scheduled some months ago.

Norths (Flegg) 5.00pm Newtown v. Norths (ISP) Looking forward to being back at Wentworth Park again and seeing the...

2019 RM Cup & Sydney Shield

Yeah Uni is a good fit, both in terms of proximity and heritage. We actually never had a formal discussion with Ryde Eastwood as their intention was always to feed Wests.

2019 RM Cup & Sydney Shield

Sydney University are Glebe-Burwood’s sole Shield feeder club for 2019. Pretty sure Ryde-Eastwood are feeding Wests Magpies. They were never lined up with Glebe-Burwood. At last report Belrose were still in Shield for next season.

2018 NSWRL Senior Comps - ISP, Flegg, RMC, Shield

Glebe-Burwood and Wenty have played two very high quality matches this season and I’m sure next weekend will be no different. Thought Penani Manumalealii was strong today in the absence of the other half Jesse Marschke who got called up Into the Newtown side, and Addison Demetriou was...

2018 NSWRL Senior Comps - ISP, Flegg, RMC, Shield

Great second half performance from Glebe-Burwood. Five tries to one in the second stanza with Bessie Aufaga-Toomaga grabbing a brace and Aaron Pene, Ryan King and Penani Manumalealii crossing. Charlton Schaafhausen scores two in the first half with Latrell Schaumkel scoring the opener. Bessie...

2018 NSWRL Senior Comps - ISP, Flegg, RMC, Shield

Nessie debuted in the 28-all draw with Cabra a few weeks back after playing for Albi in the French Elite this season. Brandon Luamanu also played in France for Avignon before joining Glebe-Burwood in June. I believe Aaron Pene is Jets-contracted but has been injured all season.

2018 NSWRL Senior Comps - ISP, Flegg, RMC, Shield

Yes he received eight weeks which he’s served. Don Thompson’s injury was really unfortunate. He made a huge break and looked like he’d score, but some desperate defence kept him in the field of play. He fell really awkwardly though and it was clear to everyone straight away that it was very...

2018 NSWRL Senior Comps - ISP, Flegg, RMC, Shield

No glaring errors that I saw, although Cabra forwards struggled to contain Malakai Houma in the last 15 minutes. Let Glebe-Burwood back into it.

He went alright. Came on just before half-time and from memory stayed on for the rest of the game. Seemed to handle it OK.
