Fiji NSW Cup Bid to Heard Next Month

Does any one know why Fiji went NSW cup rather than Qld. Is there a bigger fiji population in Sydney, or are flights easier, or some other reason.

Jason Taumalolo opts to play for Tonga

I'm confused....Where did all these fans come from... I thought the Tongan community only want born and bred Tongans in there team... thats what I read on these forums.

    RLWC17 squads

And what does that prove... that our domestic comp is better than yours? Hopefully every team is in the mix to play one of the top teams if they make it through the pool stage, so what happens then.. is it ok to bring in a different team at that stage?

    RLWC17 squads

fair enough that is an odd selection. I didn't consider that one, my response was more towards outsiders judging who should and shouldn't play for countries other than their own, which in the context of this thread seems to be mostly directed at the tier two teams.

    RLWC17 squads

Pretty odd response. Which ineligible players are playing again. So can you point out which communities are not happy about their players representing them at an international competition. Still haven't been able to find that universal definition of what international sport is about, can you...

    RLWC17 squads

The contradictions in these forums are confusing as all f**k. At times we want the World Cup to be the pinnacle of the game, but then in the same breathe we want a quota system that would limit having the best players available in many teams competing. How is that then the pinnacle. Maybe some...

    2018 Round 1 v Souths at Perth

Broncos have played a few games there in the past against souths. Jaral yow yeh broke his leg and ended his career there.

Impact of new State - based U/20's on 2018 Intrust Super Cup

Yes next season consolidated to one comp running same time line's as intrust cup. This season the qrl scrapped its u16 cyrill connell cup and ran it as an u20s comp. Next year just one u20s comp. On nsw cup you might be right i was just speculating that the existing nsw based holden cup...

Impact of new State - based U/20's on 2018 Intrust Super Cup

Not sure I understand your question.. Colts are the u20s.. is that what you mean. Each Intrust Cup club (except PNG hunters) will have a colts/u20s team which plays a full home and away season in a Statewide Comp. I think the NRL clubs with affiliates ie Broncos, Titans, Cows, Storm will send...

Impact of new State - based U/20's on 2018 Intrust Super Cup

The qrl ran a full state wide pilot comp at beginning of season in conjunction with u18s mal meninga cup..about 10 rounfs. After that it just reverted to fogs u20s for rest of year...this is an ongoing seq comp which has been run quite a while. Next year is a full season of statewide u20s...

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

you missed your stop if you're getting off at Southbank to go to suncorp.... roma street or milton, neither very far to walk.

    French Super League?

How do you know that English Super League wants more French teams... from what I've read the Super league clubs are every bit as self serving as NRL clubs and not that interested in outsiders coming in with out anything concrete to offer to their coffers.

    USA 2025

Sounded pretty low according to the article America only had a microscopic soccer culture at that point and even though it was one of the most popular sports to participate in among American youths, it still had not grabbed the attention of the populace. Professional soccer in America had died...

    USA 2025

I know its a long bow, but its worth a look at the situation that soccer in the US was in prior to them hosting the 1994 world cup. I cut a bit out of the article, but the crux of it is that the World Cup took a miniscule dying sport in the US into the beginnings of a major professional league...

    Petition to save the Titans

So over 10000 members but only 270 opposed to a bear ownership according to the petition... not sure if that is resounding opposition... could even be less if not everyone signing the petition is a club member. I'm not for or against the bears buying the titans, but I think every bid needs to...

Expansion is the only positive for RL participation

out of curiosity, how much does it cost juniors to play league in WA, and how does it compare to other sports. My experience from Sunshine coast and Brisbane is that around $180 will get your kid registered and kitted up (apart from boots). Clubs I've been involved in also give the jerseys to...

    2017 Crowd Watch

Not sure what is hard to understand... these clubs are frozen because of their own petty internal politics. Its not like the NRL haven't offered incentives for these changes to happen... wasn't it something like $11 million on offer for clubs to relocate. I guess that incentive will be gone...

    RIP Western Force- Pirates?

No argument about that from me, just saying what I think the Brisbane rugby league supporters are made up of. I agree, and think that history has been re-written to keep the anti-bronco flames bright. At the time leading up to broncos entry, the BRL was losing players to Sydney and Canberra...

    RIP Western Force- Pirates?

I don't think it is, you'll find support and opposition pretty evenly distributed around Brisbane imo. I think that its based more on a combo of footy fans in Brisbane already being attached to a Sydney club and have moved to Brissy, or attached through family lines, and those fans pissed off...

    2017 Crowd Watch

Thought this article was interesting and maybe give the NRL a wake up in a few areas. Mainly about TV deals reaching a tipping point in sports broadcasting, so a real potential of less money next deal. But also mentions NRL dependence on TV money because of lower attendance, so maybe this...
