    Question on Peter V'landys

The way I see it, for the first time in a long time we have a lot of the general NRL fan base talking up the game and people are proud of what we've achieved by the administration leading the way. This is a huge positive. Whether or not people liked what Greenberg and previous administrations...

    John Bateman

Well, where there's smoke theres fire. Summing up what we can confidently assume to be fact: - Bateman (through his management) is shopping around / enquired about the Dogs, Knights and Dragons - Bateman has not asked for a release..... but could be gone soon if $$$ is good

    Question on Peter V'landys

In some ways he reminds me of Trump, who also has a large following of the utmost faithful fans. His success seems to come from displaying relatively simple messages (and repeating them often), a direct and aggressive style, and giving the impression that he will carry through with his actions...

    John Bateman

Isn't this semantics over whether or not it's Bateman or his management asking for a release? Players sign or agree for their management to act on behalf of them. If Moses is asking for a release on behalf of Bateman, it is essentially the same as Bateman asking for that release. If I get into...

    Question on Peter V'landys

Wonder what PVL sees in Abdo. Every time he's talked hes come off as unimpressive, unsure of himself or monotonous and has not exactly produced a good image for the game.

    Cody Walker being blackmailed

My major questions are now: - Should have Cody reported this? Arguably yes. If not, why not? - Did Souths know about this last year like some are alleging? If so, NRL needs to come down hard.

    Cody Walker being blackmailed

So let's examine what we know: -A fight happened some time last year. Walker was allegedly involved. Alleged assault from Walker. - Fight was filmed, someone is now blackmailing Walker. Alleged blackmailing. - Film now released showing someone who is allegedly Walker in a tricky situation. Do...

    News Coronavirus and NRL

Haven't had the chance to read through the past few pages but jeez. 6 again rule. Gives me even more incentive as player to hold down longer than normal those first two play the balls. Thought about getting a quick play the ball on tackle 0 Fergo because of that shitty dead ball kick from my...

    Question on Peter V'landys

As someone said on another page, how good/bad it is should be determined relative to AFL. The sports media landscape has changed too much for us to compare too much to previous years (which will be considered a golden era). Speaking of AFL, is there no threat from CH7 or Fox to renegotiate the...

    Question on Peter V'landys

Do you genuinely believe that if we went to market in a few years that we'd be getting bigger bucks? The consensus amongst media analysts is that the golden age of big $ sports rights is over. Locking in security in a time of great uncertainty (for the next few years) is not necessarily a bad...

Agree with this. What are we missing? Why is the NRL digital arm apparently so valuable?

    News Coronavirus and NRL

Memories are very short. NRL will do what ch9 commentators keep screaming for. When the game works out to be slower, commentators will move on to whinging about something else

    News Coronavirus and NRL

Lol didnt this end up looking super ineffective by Albury Council. Political grandstanding and showing off that they will protect the community. Nek minnit, the Storm look even more entrenched with Albury. The net result of all this? The same risk to the community and some bad publicity /...

    Question on Peter V'landys

Yep. The key difference is: - Currently everyone is united in wanting the game to restart. It's a no brainer - In the future, when tough decisions are made to invest in the future of the game, clubs may lose out. Will be a lot tougher of a crowd to please. Having said that, PVL has done a great...

    NRL & NRL 2?

Serious click bait headline. Essentially, players outside of top 17 may merge in trial matches (only) for fitness reasons.

    Question on Peter V'landys

Interesting the change in views. 1-2 months ago people on here seemed pretty anti PVL. What has caused this change? In my view, hes exactly what we needed during this crisis. Someone who didnt give a f**k what other in the media thought. He'll also reset the NRL's cost base which is good and...

    Question on Peter V'landys

A specific point in the article I wanted to bring up - people keep saying the AFL has a harder job restarting with teams in 5 states (or territories). The NRL has teams in NSW, QLD, Melbourne, ACT and in another country in NZ. If anything, with a team across the ditch, we've had it even harder.

    News Coronavirus and NRL

Agreed. The NRL cant let this slip away and he needs to be made an example of. Regardless of whether it was the same incident or not, seems like hes made misleading statements. Meanwhile, we now have the NSW premier questioning whether we can go ahead.
