Should the Kangaroos Jersey be updated?

You keep on insisting that I want change for the sake of change... I don't. The reason I want the Jersey updated a bit, is because I think the only part of the game that HASN'T progressed in the last 30 years is the international stage! It's gone backwards! Why not refresh the whole system, chop...

Should the Kangaroos Jersey be updated?

I think the wallabies are a pretty good example for what I mean. When Union went pro they wanted to update the games image and the wallabies jersey was part of that... the first change looked bloody dreadful, but what they've got now is far superior looking to their amature say designs...

    Brian McClennan - SHUT UP!!!

I agree with Murphdogg1. The kiwi's have to take the most aggressive attitude possible into this game... they have to make it like a Springbok V Wallabies encounter where the level of passion overflows on the pitch. Then we'll see a contest! The Kangaroos have been coasting through games the...

Should the Kangaroos Jersey be updated?

Maybe they should use that super "somethingorother" material that the wallabies jersey's have...

Should the Kangaroos Jersey be updated?

Well the State jersey's had really changed for 100 years untill the 90's and for the most part any changes have been minimal. But I don't think the small tweaks have damaged the credibility of state tradition... do you?

Should the Kangaroos Jersey be updated?

I know it's become a tradition, but the kangaroos jersey has in fact changed 3 times already you know... it's just that we weren't born... and if memory serves me right the reason they changed to the gold V in the first place was because the depression hit and that design required less material...

Should the Kangaroos Jersey be updated?

I'm not talking about completely doing away with the current design though... I'm talking about a couple minor tweaks to make it look a bit more contemporary. Whats wrong with that? The game of Rugby League is a game of evolution, and that evolution has often led to bigger and better things! Why...

I know all Qlder's think they own origin, but you don't... We care just as much as you lot. There still there. and the Tigers V St George would have got way more than that if it were played at Telstra...

Should the Kangaroos Jersey be updated?

Thats why I used the SOO ones as an example. Neither of those have changed much, only been tweaked, but their tweaks have kept the jesey's fresh while also keeping in line with tradition.

Should the Kangaroos Jersey be updated?

^ l l What do you guys think? Personally I'd like to seem them update it to make it a bit more modern... The current one just looks tired and boring now IMO. I'm not talking about a HUGE redesign like the horrible 98' Wallabies did (that was a sh*tE jersey), just an update, like Qld did to...

Exactly! They'll fill Telstra possibly in 5 years if the TN has been made into a bigger event and both GB and NZ have won it in battles that displayed a level of intensity and football quality that the Rugby League public consider to be equal or better than SOO. If that happens, and I sincerley...

Agreed! Newcastle is a great RL community, they'd pack the place out easily! Especially with Joey in there!

Obviously Newscorp... But thats a given for an international media conglomerate that spans across almost every continent on the panet! I personally think that the ARL should hand over all levels of the game to the NRL though... The NRL are just generally better at promoting the game.

The problem is that you have union that gets capacity at Telstra year in year out... the same way NSW do at Origin time... The difference being that in both instances the opposition is highly credible and you don't know the outcome before you go into the match.

Thats the thing isn't it though. If you already know that it's gonna be a thrashing, then they're not much of a rival are they? And thats the bloody problem! The kangaroo's don't have any rivals anymore because they smash every other team!

I'm no tight arse, but I'm interested in WASTING money either... I don't know about you, but I go to footy matches to see a CONTEST, $60 is a high price to pay to watch a drubbing! Seriously, if they put more effort into organising international league, like shortening both the NRL and SL...

    Goal Kicker for Roos.

Neither did Brent Tate or Willie Mason... but they are both in the squad. It's seriously a joke that all three of them are in the squad! Especially Tate! He's the most over-rated centre in the game!

    How many tickets sold?

Absolutely! If they were gonna get 50,000+ then it'd be ok, but that hasn't happened for a while... 50,000 at Telstra has less atmosphere than 40k at the SFS in any case.
  19. strong_latte

    How many tickets sold?

oh yeah, I forgot about the cricket... but I still think Telstra was a mistake! They should of had it in Brisbane if the SFS wasn't an option.

    How many tickets sold?

Absolutely! I'd love to see packed houses of 80,000 to kangaroo's matches, but while we're this dominant it just aint gonna happen! Most people go to a game to see a contest... And anyway, I went to the Sydney Wallabies V Springboks test early in the year and that was a HIGH profile test against...
