NRL will not force clubs to release players for Denver Test

I understand to a degree where the NRL clubs are coming from (in soccer for example Socceroos play mid season games in England to allow clubs to release players), however this fixture has been talked about since before the NRL schedule was announced. It's their own fault for not fixing the...

NRL will not force clubs to release players for Denver Test

Absolute stupidity from the NRL and Clubs. there is NO WAY clubs can stop releasing their players for a RLIF sanctioned match. It's just them flexing their muscles and trying to hold on to the NRL centred universe which they know is slowly being challenged all the time

    Fijian Wingers switch to Union

It comes back to the heritage vs domestic selection debate. I think the whole Battle of the Bati is pointless unless you're going to pick a select number of domestic players. It was stupid how they did it last year and only 2 players from Fiji got picked for the WC squad. Performances are...

Understanding the 2021 World Cup Qualifiers

The only surprising obmision from the qualifiers are the Cooks,Hong Kong and Philippines. Everyone else involved (except maybe Scotland) deserve a place in the qualifiers.

    Pacific Islands

The NRL has implemented the NRL Pacific Strategy since 2014 with the help from the Australian government. Plus they've run the Pacific Test since 2013 so you can't exactly say they've done nothing. Also isn't the Fiji NSWRL team ready for the 2019 season?

Auckland RL pulling Warriors out of NSW U/20s

I'm on the Fence with this, half of me thinks it will help improve the local RL competition in NZ and the other thinks less quality NZ teens will be produced by NZRL. Either way it's a historical problem since the inception of the Warriors and something has to be done to stop the mass migration...

Lebanon withdrawn from Pacific Test Invitational, Fiji replace

Hopefully the RLIF sorting out the pay disputes helped encourage Fiji and their players to play in this again. As for Lebanon, hopefully they can get their in-house issues sorted out and play in Internationals this year

Auckland RL pulling Warriors out of NSW U/20s

I wonder if 5-10 years down the track they'll think about pulling the Warriors out of the NRL?

Auckland RL pulling Warriors out of NSW U/20s

New Warriors owners announce plans to scrap U-20 side The new owners of the Warriors are wasting no time in making their presence felt, announcing the imminent culling of the club's U-20 team. Just a day after declaring they'd be making no "radical changes" following the formal acceptance of...

    First Fiji, now Lebanon

They reached out to the Australian-Lebanese community big time in Oz for the WC. I work in Bankstown (big Lebanese community) and all through the local papers and Lebanese-Australian papers were promoting the team left right and centre. They even got to meet the Ambassador of Lebanon on Canberra...

Is Toronto Wolfpack helping Union in Canada?

It happens all over the world, that doesn't bother me too much because the WP are being promoted as "the best". It's just in my opinion a worry when they actively promote Union on their own devices and events they set up themselves

    USARL 2018

Peter Ifield (former USARL President) was on here and explained the difficulties of running RL in USA. From what I remember, travel time and the short season is difficult to attract sponsorship for a 8 week season. Remember, 12 clubs is still much more than what was occurring before the split...

    First Fiji, now Lebanon

SOMETIMES, in conducting interviews, it’s worth asking the same question twice. Mohamed Habbous is the president of the Lebanese Rugby League Federation who is not standing for re-election. There’s a lot happening in Lebanese rugby league right now – and not a lot of it seems to be good. It...
