    Premiers !!!!!!!

Don't sweat Hellteam, Alan Jones is very often below the belt .... :-P His remarks are usually unfair as well.

Robson adjusting to new role at Eels

I think Robson's been great at hooker. It looks like being his correct position. I can understand him being disappointed about being moved from the no. 7 role but the way he's handled that, his positive attitude and the strength of his performances shows the quality of the man.

    Premiers !!!!!!!

I think with the Brisbane players, playing under Bennett and staying in Brisbane is a big thing. THats why Broncos teams are usually stacked with talent - Henjak doesn't have the same appeal. But for my money, why can't we have a one-off play-off series for the 2007 and 2009 Premierships at...

    Team vs Cowboys

It might be that some of the defensive problems that Inu seemed to have on the weekend were in part attributable to Grothe not playing slide defence properly. It might also be that Grothe is injured or has niggling injuries and needs a rest. Either way, I'm confused and a bit baffled by this...

Eels vs Cowboys on Friday night

I totally agree with you. In the days before I got Foxtel, and before Ch 9 started screening 7:30 games, I had to wait an extra hour to find out if the Eels had won or not. Its also so much easier to enjoy the game when you don't have all that tension of not knowing whether we're gonna win or...

    Where's Feleti's offloads???

Totally agree. Part of the problem is that he's trying to offload but theres nobody backing up so a half chance turns into a spilled ball.

Inu accepts he may no longer be an Eel

Why would Grothe re-sign for 100K when he can earn way more than that overseas? I can't see Inu re-signing for 100K but he'd be worth about 150-180K. But then its probably a moot point.

Inu accepts he may no longer be an Eel

He played extremely well in the back end of 2009 and he's been pretty good this year. He was injured for much of 2008. I don't see how you can blame him for being injured. Its not like he was Adam Dyke-type 'injured' he was genuinely injured. Fair enough, he's not worth 280K but he's worth...

Inu accepts he may no longer be an Eel

I think Burty can play on until he's 31. He's 29 now and he looks good on-field. I think Hindy might be on his last legs though. Bear in mind that Burt missed almost all of 2003 and a lot of 2000-2001 with injury. So the wear and tear on his body is a bit less.

Inu accepts he may no longer be an Eel

Inu has about eight seasons of first grade ahead of him. Grothe has maybe two at best as does Luke Burt. So why would we get rid of Inu? We know we probably won't keep Mateo because he isn't worth 400K and he's kind of surplus to requirements. So why don't we lose Cayless, Grothe and Mateo...

    Reddy takes Early Guilty Plea

Inu was playing fine. Unlucky to be dropped in the first place.

    Team vs Souths

I think Robson can play the full 80 minutes. In part I'm keen that we stick with a halfback and avoid any temptation to tinker with the halfback's role. But we could survive reshuffling the 5/8's as Dazeely suggests with Mateo going there and KK to dummy half if Robson gets injured. Mk just...

    Team vs Souths

Whew, this looks so much better. I'd still drop MK and give both Oake and Horo a run. Oake played really well against Cronulla. Also, no interchanging of hookers and halves.

    Team vs Souths

Well, we'll see how this season goes. But I'm not sure what Horo did wrong. I don't see how reverting to Robson at half really helps or how the selection of KK on the bench makes sense. Halfback should not be a shared role - somebody has to take control. Parra are now 1/5. Last year they were...

    Your team vs Souths

A better effort last night. I would start Poore because I thought he played better when he started against Cronulla. I would bench Hindy, no disrespect intended, but I think now that he's 31 we have to use him differently than we have before. I'd start Horo - for mine he's been good. I would...

    Player abuse...

I think its really shocking. I know that it happens a bit but the language that some of the supporters use is absolutely unacceptable. I remember one game a few years back where this guy was yelling the most awful abuse imagineable at the Dragons players and telling the Parra players to do some...

Who should be our Captain in 2011

I often have a wtf feeling when I look at Brian Smith's old team lists. Loved him as a coach ... but wtf!! On the Rugby league project site I looked up some of the 1998 team-lists and they were puzzling at best. I guess it made sense at the time. He doesn't seem to be a fan of a settled halves...

Who should be our Captain in 2011

If you want to see something really scary, this was our line-up against Canberra in for one game in 2003: Parramatta A. GRAHAM, R. PRINCE, W. TONGA, D. VAEALIKI, M. PETERSEN, D. WAGON (c), M. WITT, K. LEULUAI J. MORRIS, A. PEEK, D. TREACY, D. WIDDERS, L. HOPKINS, Bench: D. HECKENBERG...

Who should be our Captain in 2011

Leyshon was pretty good for us as well from what I could see. I think the forward pack was Vella, Morris, Leyshon, Treacy, Crouch, Hopkins or something like that with Webster, Widders etc on the bench. Wagon might've been 5/8. Those were scary days and as bad as we're playing now this is still...
