The difference between the two teams:
Roosters - dominated in the forward pack, but couldn't capitalize on any field position or possession due to lack of communication between Aubusson, Anasta and Pearce. Therein lies the biggest problem, our three key playmakers are in their first year together, two of them haven't played a full year of first grade before, and Braith is still young too.
Bronco's - were able to counterattack and make the most of Roosters missed opportunities, Ennis was too crafty around the ruck, and lockyer and Wallace without being outstanding were able to control the tempo of the game, using their superior outside backs (well...mainly Hodges and Kemp) to capitalize.
People like to give it to the Chookies for being one-dimensional, but they have a VERY young and inexperienced halfback, a 5-8 who is experienced but has big shoes to fill and himself isn't too old, and a hooker who is barely established as a first grader, is trying to emulate the likes of Farah and Smith, but his 'shield' Riley Brown getting injured early cost us. Brown may not be flash, but he controls the ruck very well with his defence.
All in all, Bronco's exploited the Roosters backline inexperience, and showed how to beat a more physical, sizeable team. Kudos to the Bronco's, and good luck Chookies next week (assuming they are still there). They have Mitch Aubusson, SKD and Amos all coming back - the top 3 try scorers for the club. Will definitely add more spark to the backline.
