Dragons are clear favourites in the betting too according to NRL on Fox.

St George Ill $1.52
Melbourne $2.45

St George Ill 13+ $2.75
St George Ill 1-12 $3.10
Draw 26.00
Melbourne 1-12 $4.00
Melbourne 13+ $6.00

There's a bit of value there at the margins so i might have a look at doing something there. The Storm haven't been and won't be at those odds again for a while so i'll have a crack. Well they will be come origin 2 and 3 but if we had any chance at all winning one of these games, we'd be a slightly better chance in this one as opposed to the Tits and Eels away IMO.

Clearly bicey's making judgement thinking both teams look like normal, when it's quite obvious we'll be seeing a cripple fight :fist:

should be a very close game,
melbourne have been depleated of thier stars, yet they r still able to form a v.strong team, st george have a consistent team this week, but their stars missing will come into play, the reason why storm will win in a close game is that st george dont know how to win close matches (like last week) and storm have come from behind many times to win in past rounds so that will count. very hard to predict margin. storm by 7.

They'll win "quite comfortably" because they have a good record against us?

Have you seen the teams?

Whoa! Huge hit there, Hutty.

LOL...going by your logic, if games were won on paper, shouldn't have St George won upteen number of premierships over the last decade?

Cracks me up. You'll see come Saturday night, win or lose, the 'Possible Storms' side will show a few things that St George can only hope to have.

1. Winning culture
2. Team spirit
3. Never say die attitude
4. No monkeys on their back
5. Unbridled enthusiasm

I'd hate to be in St George's shoes I tell ya. If you lose, you'll never live this down. Nathan Brown WILL be sacked (or will resign) if they get beat, and rightly so. This Storm team is without their coach and 10, possibly 11 first graders (Lima and Blair may also sit out). You should in theory, and on paper absolutely romp this in.

But you know...it don't take a lot of pressure to again see the Dragon underachieve...but this one could be the mother of all cherries on the cake.

$100 on Storm by 13+ ;-)

Yep I have...

Melbourne have a winning culture.. even without their players missing they still win.

On paper sure.. Dragons should win but games arent won on paper...

No reason why Storm can't win. They are playing the Dragons who are also missing a few key players and if its an arm wrestle its quite possible the dragons will beat themselves. Just because the storm have several 'nobodies' doesn't mean alot, whose to say these guys aren't future rep stars?

Storm 1-12.

The Dragons have their 3 best winning although i tend to believe they should have only had Gasnier in origin now they are screwed so thats a plus i guess.

Some little facts...

Since 1999 - 19 games dominated by the Storm 14 to 4, with one draw.
At ANZ/Telstra/Stadium Australia 2 games have both gone to the Storm, 20-18 in the 99 Grand Final, and 24-10 in the 2006 Preliminary.

Last year the Storm won both games easily, 28-6 at Olympic and 24-10 at OKI.
Melbourne have defeated the Dragons 24-10 three times in the past two seasons.

Both teams built up anger in 2000, smashing each other 50-4 (Dragons over Storm @ WIN) and 70-10 (Storm over Dragons @ the MCG).

Why isn't he playing?

St George Illawarra are doing surprisingly well with injuries, only Jarrod Saffy in the casualty ward, due back from a rib injury in two weeks. They are, however suffering through rep duty - Hornby, Gasnier and Cooper all kitted up in Blue at the moment.
Melbourne are easily the worst hit club by Origin and their lineup is almost unrecognisable. Missing for the clash this weekend are Slater, Inglis, Folau, Cam Smith, Johnson and Crocker (Maroons) and White, Quinn & Hoffman (Blues). This is compounded by fringe first graders such as Adam Blair (eye, indefinite), Ben MacDougall (knee, indefinite) and Danny Vaughan (knee, season) all missing. As such there are a number of Toyota Cup players being blooded in this crucial clash.

LOL you forgot to mention your team gets the rub of the green off the referees, week after week (and it's even more so down at Melbourne)..

Oh and here we go! The "choking" allegation!

Coming from the team that had one of the biggest chokes of all time in the 2006 GF :lol:
*Cue Storm fan to bring up 99 GF* (where they convieniently forget the Dragons weren't even expected to make the decider that year, but lets not let blind bias get in the way of an attempted insult)

F*ck off you smug little turd

But the thing is, your opinion means jack sh*t because you're a nuffy and haven't watched a game of Rugby league in your life.

Sensitive little bugger aren't ya. I didn't mention the 'choke' word - but geez not only did you bring that up yourself quicksmart and again - you brought the 1999 GF (and you threw in the only Saint supporters' good news in a couple of decades - a Broncos GF win!)

I assumed you implied it by the "underachieving" remark.

 It was a bit angry wasn't it. The Dragons might as well pack it in this year if they lose this, its a crucial 2 points and a must-win game

Many expected us to finish near last in '06 having lost Bell, Kearns, Orford and a few other forwards, go through threads, so using your criteria we too over-achieved.

Anyway I think we will go mighty close this game. Dragons have there strike players out and I think the teams are evenly matched, most just have'nt heard of ours.

With so little experience and never really playing together as a team it's hard to see us getting over the line for this one. It'd be the height of humiliation for the Queens if we did manage to cause a boil over though.

Mate...if the kids win this the Dragons would never forget this...will be good watching Ryles run the ball up and all the little kids trying to bite his ankles !!!
