Where's the Hate????

Nice research there:roll:. He played some games for the Tigers as well didn't he?

He actually debuted for you lot back in the Northern Eagles days. He was about as upstanding as your major sponsor of the time... what was it, QALA?

Some little facts...

12 matches between these clubs since '95, Manly's got the edge 7 wins to 5.
They've never played at Gosford.

Last year they met once in the regular season, the Cowboys too strong 30-26 at DFS, but Manly had the last laugh, 28-6 preliminary final winners at the SFS.

Big wins came for Manly in 1996 (46-4 @ Brookie) and North Queensland in 2003 (31-20 @ Brookie)

Why isn't he playing?

Manly's Michael Bani is due back next week following an ankle injury, Anthony Watmough's troublesome knee injury should also be cleared in time for next week's Dragons match. Jason King has a foot injury and won't be seen 'til at least Round 15. The Eagles also have Brett Stewart out on Blues duty.
The Cowboys have a fair chunk of their cap on the sideline - Matt Bowen (knee, R12), Matthew Scott (ankle, R21), as well as indefinite injuries to Sione Faumuina (groin), Travis Burns (shoulder) and Ty Williams (hamstring). Adding to this are their missing Origin reps - Carl Webb, Jacob Lillyman and captain Johnathan Thurston.

FFS, isn't Big League meant to be up with all the facts ???

Watmough's injury was an ankle, and Bani is not due back next week. He has a massive blood clot in his calf, and will miss at best the next 4-5 weeks, and if the meds haven't worked by then, season over.

Yeah it was, the article about Bani came out before last weekends game. Was a lucky fella, doc gave him a checkup and found a 10cm clot, and he was planning on flying with the team up to Brisbane.

Apparently Crusher Cleal is giving him daily injections in the stomach to try and thin the blood, if that doesn't work, season over

Choc's Origin bid

Jason Avedissian

17 May 2008
http://manlydaily.com.au/article/2008/05/17/10211_sports.html

INJURED Manly second- rower Anthony Watmough could be a shock late starter in the Sea Eagles' team tonight, reigniting his hopes of playing in this year's State of Origin series.

Watmough travelled with his mates to Gosford yesterday afternoon ahead of tonight's round-10 NRL clash with the Cowboys at Bluetongue Stadium.

The former Origin backrower has not played since Manly's round-five loss to Melbourne, when he injured ligaments in his ankle.

Watmough has been itching for his return in a bid to make a late charge for games two and three of this year's Origin series.

Manly officials were giving nothing away last night, but The Manly Daily understands Watmough could be a late inclusion.

The Sea Eagles wound up preparations for tonight's clash against the seriously weakened Cowboys with a successful open day for supporters in Gosford yesterday afternoon.

Manly veteran Steve Menzies will shift to five-eighth with Jamie Lyon starting in his preferred centre position in the absence of Steven Bell (elbow).

Meanwhile, Blues fullback Brett Stewart has conceded he has "a point to prove" when he aims to get one over Queensland counterpart Billy Slater in Wednesday night's Origin opener in Sydney.

Slater's irresistible form with the Storm this year saw him dislodge Stewart for the Australian No. 1 jumper this month. The Manly flyer is mindful of that as he prepares to play his third Origin match against the Maroons at ANZ Stadium.

"I guess there is a point to prove," Stewart said yesterday. "Obviously he's taken my Test jersey and I want to go out and play over my opposite number."

These type of games really scare me. Most fans talking up a Manly victory by 20+. The Sea Eagles have a few out as well and the fact the Watmough might be back has me a little bit more assured. If we are not switched on we could be in trouble - look what happened to Parra last nite. The fact that Parra lost last night has me putting a red line through them for the year!!

Nobody, effie just like to think he's in the know. He really should be posting sources for unsubstantiated rumour ;-)

"My Test jersey"??????

"Stewie" only got one because Hunt was injured last year.

He should just accept that when all top fullbacks are fit he's going to really struggle to get back in.

Na, he got one, because at the backend of the year he was playing the best footy out of all the fullbacks available. When all top fullbacks are fit, he is easily in the top 4-5 anyway, with a bees dick between most of them

If we used your logic, it wasn't Hunt's jersey anyway coz he only had it coz Mini was injured
