Manly played like sh!t and so did the Dragons. The Dragons got a bit of luck with the video ref on 2 occasions which could have really gone either way. However the Dragons deserved the victory more as they took more of their limited chances, Manly had more chances and did not convert.

That being said, Stewart's also wasn't a try, and the Dragons halves were too good for us. Their style of attack up through the middle always seems to break through us somehow.

Actually, scrap that. Just looked at it again on the tape and you could see his left hand on the ball the entire time. If Nightingale's effort was BOTD, this one should have been at least. Just because Gould goes off his rocket about it (especially considering he's a Dragons' fan) doesn't make it true

You mean like Soward's try against the Cowboys when we lost by four points or the try we had disallowed against the Eels where we lost by one point?

I was thinking the exact same thing.

A very scrappy game by the sounds of it, hopefully the replay will be up soon on the net and I'll have a look.

You say we got "lucky" with some video ref calls but you bombed a try and couldn't bury a team that dropped the pill seven sets IN A ROW (not to mention the superior opportunities you had).

Both teams will improve after last nights effort, bad luck Manly, you're a quality side and that will be proven when you probably end up with a top 4 spot.

Stoked with the win, one of the toughest road trips in the game :)

Are you guys for real about the vid ref?

The Nightingale try was a fair application of benefit of the doubt. I thought they would rule no try, as that has been our luck all year, but was very happy to take the try.

You guys reckon Stewart grounded it?! lol. Guys, come on. Dreamers.

I would be very concerned if I was a Manly fan. Here are the useless Dragons playing even worse than they usually do, and at the so called 'fortress' (lol), and you can't even hold us out.

Ah.. and what about Des giving them the spray after the game. Priceless.

You were going off at him as if he should be personally offended by the result and that he wasn't actually looking at the game without any bias at all :p

And with the Stewart try, it's hard to see because of the Dragon's player (Hornby?) kicking at it and Stewart's right arm in the foreground, but if you look at his left hand it's on the ball the entire time. Even he spoke out after the game and is adamant he scored it, and Stewart never creates a fuss about anything.

Again, so? lol

Wasn't going off at anyone, and I never referred to him by the team he supports. But he was certainly keen to be a Manly supporter in this thread. Maybe he had a bet on.

No, he dropped it.

Compelling evidence. ;-)

I only saw Stewarts try at the game on the big screen, have not seen another reply. Based on what I saw I say no try but you see some like that given every second week which is bloody frustrating. I also do not understand why Orford turned down the 2 points from in front!!!!! Very costly.

Or maybe he was just saying it the way he saw it. We hardly get any credit from opposition supporters, let alone Newcastle ones.

Agree to disagree then, but I'd take Stewart's word over yours :p

Nah... he just wanted Manly to win. Read his posts.

But of course you're welcomed to think the team his supports makes him an impartial observer.

And I take the video ref's word over Stewart's.

Zing!

Zing? I swear with a fair amount of the video ref calls they close their eyes and hit any button, or it is a monkey up there in the box calling the shots.

Doing my best greggie.

I think the gravity of the zing has finally been realised.
