How does it feel to have taken the reigns JD? LOL.

I hope we get this one,I do think it'll be a good game and either team will be playing exciting football.

I voted Panthers on the poll, but this game will be the hardest game we've had since Round 1 IMO. I'm hoping we can shut JT down, and dominate the Cowboys in the forwards. If we manage that, we will win.

That said... i can see JT having his biggest game of the year and putting a nice margin on us.

A boost for the Cowboys:
May 27 - Michael Gordon will be sidelined for an indefinite period after sustaining in the Warriors game.

Gordon has sustained a fracture of the zygomatic arch, a bone extending forward from the side of the skull, over the opening of the ear. The injury was sustained late in the game against the Warriors when Michael was tackled coming of the line. Contact from the knees of Ian Henderson is thought to have caused the injury.

The injury left him nursing a very sore head for some days to come, however the real extent of the injury was first diagnosed after he continued to be troubled by it. CT Scans revealed the degree of the fracture and as a result is being operated on today to correct the injury
He has been our best back all year. His defence will be missed big time. Hoping we put Brad Tighe out onto the wing, and Maurice Blair at centre. Jarrod Sammut at 5/8.

The stats for teams winning their first match under a new coach mid-season are heavily skewed towards a win. That in itself makes it a danger game for us - the Cows will obviously want to play for Millward.

Id say they're more likely to want to play for Paul Bowman (newly appointed assistant coach). The last original Cowboy from 1995 and a player who always gave his best

Yep Bear being the assistant coach will be a big factor.
I think the fact of all of the dramas being sort will be a huge lift of the backs of the players and JT in especially.

JT has come under fire as he didn't have a very good game last Wednesday and Scott Prince/Cooper Cronk are breathing down his neck.

This game imo, will show just how much was going on up north.

Yeah its good, but I'm just keeping the seat warm until Timmah comes back next week. I wish this forum wouldn't be so slow though :fist:

On the game, I think that the Cowboys should win - their first game back after Murray resigned (or was pushed), either way its their first game with a new coach. I've lost count of the amount of times a team has won the following week after a coach-change.

I'm expecting a big game from JT.

10000-1 mate, there is talk of him requiring surgery, could be his season.
As a Panthers supporter, that's a relief.

As a League supporter, it's terrible news. He is one of the most enjoyable players to watch... the way he and Thurston can shred a team to bits is just incredible.

Yeah what's with that?
From what I've seen of Sammut he has been great in the halves, perhaps he's still a bit too young?
He was doing well, but he liked to show off... and he made a lot of poor decisions at halfback which potentially cost us. Luke Lewis just does the job he is told to do.

Not sure if Sammut will play on the wing... but it's great to see him back. He's a bloke who can win you the game all on his own. Hopefully he can form a partnership in the halves with Luke Lewis.

Hard to call. The Thurston factor is a big factor for me, but Penrith are the better team and playing the better footy. Panthers 28, Cowboys 26.
