The only problem for those who love their stats is that our form line so far this year has gone WWLLLWWLLLWW which means we're "due" for three losses. I hope not :fist:
as i said, we have everything to play for. breaking that stat is one of many things. the most important stat of all in regards to us winning is that a win will consolidate us into the top 8 without f/a. a few of the teams on 16 points on the ladder are playing each other this week - and with another favourable result (sharks beating the eels) we could go 2 points clear of 3 teams.

it's a very big game for the knights in the context of the season, and i think we can go 2 from 2 against the roosters this year. the forwards will need to muscle up big time and tighten our defence that has been quite loose since that massive effort against melbourne a month ago.

this game could well and truly launch us for the rest of the season, or it could put us back on struggle street. for the first time in a fair while our fate well and truly rests in our own hands.

TBH, im not as convinced as other knights fans. We were very patchy last night verse the cowboys and looked pretty weak in defence. That being said monday night games aren't usually very good...

If we start slow we could be up the creek.

Im hopeful for a victory but we will need to improve 100% on the last 2 weeks.

I think argument went out the window when we slaughtered the Warriors. Although after the Manly game, it could be premature to assume we can win in the day and on the road.

Either way I'm confident we will win this time with O'Meley and Minichiello both back we look a better unit than last time.

hmm not exactly,

i thought last weeks performance was average

but if its average and we can still win by 20 points... :p

sure is great to see Mini back,
certainly makes our back-line look strong

Knights beat us after a last 10 minutes of madness last match and I think we'll be more focused this time. I don't think we've lost at Newcastle for a few years either.. Roosters 20+

Im still scratching my head over the huge amounts of confidence in knights fans TBH.

Yeah sure we are full strength, but IMO Roosters have a much better deck.

Considering we beat the Roosters last time with players in different positions.. I think we are a huge chance. We had Wes at FB, Gidley at HB and Mullen was missing as well. The game is at Newcastle, we are full strength and have a bit of confidence at the moment. I dont see why we cant win this one. I know for one thing it wont be "Roosters 20+" Newcastle's biggest losing margin this year is 14 and that was against Melbourne in Melbourne.

Funny how we only tend to look at our own team. Roosters were missing Minichello and O'Meley which is probably more significant. Should be a great game though. And while Rooster's deserve favouritism, agree Knights a real chance at home.

Not really...

They have been going along with out them in previous games where as we struggle big time with Kurt at HB

Well he's one from one there this year. And the previous time he moved into half was when Walsh got injured in the final round of 2007--basically those last ten minutes when the team shoved the wooden spoon over Penrith way. Teams might find ways to exploit Gids deficiencies at half if he played there week-to-week, but I don't think it disadvantaged us greatly in that last outing against the Roosters. Our kicking game was predictably abysmal, but we had a specific match plan with Gids at half and it got the desired result. True the Roosters were playing well without Minichello and Meley, but they still look more imposing with them back in the side.
