Most fun I've had watching a Canberra game since the 1994 grand final.

Great game!

Panthers defence was embarassingly woeful though.

Pritchard needs to be released ASAP. He's already mentally released himself.

Not much i can say that everyone else hasn't. Congratulations boys. Bouncing back from a very average week.

All those Panthers fans bagging out Matt Elliot should change that point of blame to the 17 players that ran onto the field for you.

Elliot wasn't the one defending at an under 10's B grade standard.

No, he's the bloke picking players either out of position, or who haven't played football in ages.

Geoff Daniela has just come back from an injury, and before that he was playing in reserve grade. Maurice Blair has been playing terrible at centre, so he gets promoted to 5/8. Adam Woolnough has been carving up for Windsor Wolves and can't make it onto the bench ahead of Matt Bell who has been down on form lately.

Yes, we have a shocking culture at Penrith where the mentality and application to the task at hand is not as high as it should be. Definitely not for one that was in the running for finals footy.

But Elliott can't be absolved of any responsibility for that.

People have been bagging out Elliott since well before todays loss.

Anyway, congratulations raiders (and their fans) a thourougly deserved routing of the pathetic excuse for a football side you played today.

As for Penrith. Well I hope the bus has already left because after that game you guys deserve to walk all the f**king way home. With a bit of luck you might actually make it back before Saturdays's game against the bulldogs. Which I think the bulldogs have a huge chance of winning.

My poor simple mind simply can't fathom how you can turn up and play that way with so much on the line.

Probably the most souless penrith performance I've ever seen.

Sorry, within all the anger, I forgot my manners...

Congratulations to the Raiders. All the best for the rest of the season - you definitely deserve to play finals footy after what I saw today, and what we've all seen for the last month or so.

Definitely a team on the rise.

That's the thing - it's not as though we had been consigned to the wooden spoon weeks ago or our finals hopes had been snuffed out. We had plenty to play for. It was perhaps our most important match for a couple of seasons in terms of what it meant for us.

And the boys put in something like that. It's just not good enough. Petero would be absolutely heart broken at the moment. Elliott is probably confusing the the assembled media at the press conference with his twisted analogies, and saying we're still a chance.

Mathematically, we still are. Realistically, we may as well be down the Dogs on the ladder.

It's the most insipid performance I've seen the boys play. After the Wesser try (which was actually quite a spectacular try in itself), it was just all one way traffic.

Appreciated, and I acknowledge how hard it must be when you've got your season on the line watching the players do nothing like that.

To be honest, I'm not suprised. It's exactly the kind of heartless, spineless effort that Matt Elliot coaches. He did it for years at Canberra. It doesn't matter how good blokes in reserves are playing, he'd rather play his favourites out of form and out of position (we had it with the likes of Brad Drew and Jason Bulgarelli) and ignore talented players (we'd still have Mick Monaghan if it wasn't for him) because it's part of his 'grand plan'.

Why any club would have him as a coach I'll never understand.

Bad luck Penrith, but the sooner you get rid of Elliot the better you'll be.

Geez I picked a hell of a time to go overseas... have missed the last 3 games and won't be back till after the grand final... and that's when they decide to turn it on like I've been saying they're capable of. At least I'll have all the games to watch when I get back :)
