You think it was an intentional kick to the head?:lol::lol::lol:

No, it was completely unintentional. I try to kick things and accidently hit people in the face quite often:sarcasm:. Common occurence.

Geez, people have reached all time lows in trying to defend their team or players on their team.

Not a send off imo for Thurston, correct decision.
Rubbish! If that happened in normal play, he would've been sent without question. Remember Ryles vs Melbourne last year?

Watmough has been outstanding. I also think Barrett and Kimmorley are playing smart football by not trying to do too much and giving Creagh ,Morris and Hayne early ball with room to move. I think the experienced halves are paying off by the fact you can see the side has alot more direction and go forward this game.

Excellent analogy. Relates to Rugby League very well. I agree that it was a horrible play from Thurston, but to think that he intentionally kicked at Williams' head is beyond dellusional.

BTW I'd love to hear your analogy for Barrett's clenched fist head swing tackling technique.

Gould needs to quit the drugs, they're having a negative effect.

"it wasn't that bad" ...... "unlucky it was an 8 point try"

uhhh Phil, it's 2009, you can't kick people!!!!

um Thurston walked in and deliberately kicked him in the face. its not like he was sliding into the tackle or even going or the ball. are some of you blind??

timmah you clown .. you need to read the rules ...

a penalty try is only awarded if a legitimate try is not scored ... doesnt matter if it is in the act of scoring or preceding .. If an illegal play prevents a try being scored then a penalty try is awarded with the conversion taken from in front.

An 8 point try is awarded when an offence is committed on the scoring player in the event of scoring the try. It is therefore very rare as most things (knees in the back/kcik in the head) happen after the try is scored.
Exactly, so 8 point try was correct, the video referee awarded the try benefit of the doubt.

Doesn't matter champ. He INTENTIONALLY lead with the feet which is a no-no. End of story. Defend it all you want. Points are on the board. Thurston is a low merkin.
