I love how Dogs fans whinge about the Dragons game being decided by a refs error and then claim the Panthers one in the same breath. The Panthers had a fair try disallowed in the dying minutes which would of wrapped up the game. The refs came out and admitted the error the following week.
It's just too bad their trainers are as smart as the cards they were meant to be holding and it cost them in the end.
Just to put another thought out there - why does 14 players on the field become a penalisable offence after the game instead of during it?
There's an interchange official, why can't they keep an eye on # of players on the field, who's coming on and off, and make sure there's no transgressions. If there is, the official communicates to the referee and the other team gets a penalty. It's not like its hard, all they'd have to do is count and make sure there's 4 players off the field.
If the official misses it, then it's just good luck to the team transgressing. Just like it's good luck to a team if they illegally strip a ball and don't get penalised for it.
