In all seriousness the knights obviously have 2 premierships however there will always be a cloud over it from it my point of view as the comp was split in 2. Same with the Bronco's in 97. Not to take anything away from either team but if I was a fan of either team I would view the other premierships they have as being of greater significance.

Y'know, one thing and only one thing annoys me from that year whenever I look in rugby league records. They always read:

PREMIERSHIPS:
Broncos - 6*
Newcastle - 2

Seriously, the asterisk should be dropped from the Broncos' count, or added to Newcastle's. Both won a competition when the game was split into two top-line comps that year, both are entitled to have it count, and both are equal.

You are correct. Whenever people refer to the Knights and premierships they always say 2. With the Bronco's they generally say it is 6, including SL in 97 or 5 + SL in 97. That particular year is alway singled out. I can only assume because they were the rebel comp where as the ARL was the traditional comp. Either way you look at both comps were depleted and both should be recognised in the same fashion.

hopefully we can guts out another win this w/e down in gosford.

as for the premiership debate, as far as im concerned brisbane have won 6 and the knights 2. as someone previously stated, both were depleted competitions.

however it's no secret which grand final was better ;)

The Broncos have won 6 national premierships. The Knights have won 1 national premiership and one premiership against the teams not good enough for the top league at that time.

Souths, but then again my stupidity in tipping Souths occurs often.
Now that I have tipped them, they will break my trust horribly and lose!

Did you expect flowers after initially addressing me as a "f**king idiot"?

f**k off imbecile.

I'm not the one who came into a Souths v Knights thread trying to troll supporters of a particular team.

This should be a good game. I think Souths in this one. Nights short turn around from Monday and injuries will hurt them late in the game. I don't think they have the troops up front to hold the bunnies pack.
