I don't think Pini Paea is out of form. The bloke just needs a good run and that means starting because he plays bits and pieces which is not the way to use a player of his calibre. I'd like to see Soliola shift into second row and have Jones to fullback with Perrett to centres. A bit more depth in the forwards is needed.
Possibly agree on Paea, but he definantly plays his best footy off the bench at PROP. Playing him in the second row is a complete waste of time as far as I'm concerned, he doesn't have the mobility or the offload, so we are wasting that straightline speed and huge impact he causes. Last year he was playing so well when coming off the bench after 30 once Ogre Myles and Shillow had laid a great platform early and Paea just kept it coming even more intense.
I definantly disagree with your view on Jones to fullback. Serious question, did you watch his performance last week? He was so terrible under the high ball it was cringe worthy. He just doesn't know how to play there, and lacks some of the fundamental skills to star there. I look forward to watching him play in the centers when he gets to utilize his agility and speed one on one, or in the halves (hope it doesn't happen though as that means Pearce or Anasta have been injured or selected for origin).
Would be good if we bring in another forward for Jones tbh, because we have Friend for the utility role, and Sa can cover a few positions in the backline.
