By the way, that pass from Jennings was legal. The pass has to be propelled forward from the hands (like the Tiger try that was called back for a foward pass). Jennings was running quite fast when he threw that pass and if you have ever taken Physics at any level you would know a ball thrown BACK from a moving player as fast as Jennings was will most likely float forward.

I was a little worked up yes, and I realize he was moving fast but it did go fairly far forward. It was a dodgy decision in all honesty.

Imo, we lost by 2 points, not twenty.

The knock on by Lewis and Gridiron pass by Jennings made it 8 pts.
The strip on Gibbs and ensuing try = 14 pts
The ref's tackle/obstruction - 20 pts

We lost by 2/could've won.

Still, a spirited and strong effort from the Panthers who walk out deserving winners.

Hey DictorTheDick-King, I'm showing some honesty and humility you brainless, gutless twat.

If we're talking would have, could have, should have's, even taken in to account all the things you mentioned we would have one by eight because you'd also have to take into account the foward pass you scored your first try off.

Personally I'm stoked with the win, mostly because of the way we backed up after a tough monday night encounter.

I'll start by acknowledging that

a) Penrith were easily the better team tonight
b) Penrith are a better team in general,

Having said that, the standard of officiating was absolutely woeful. I'm still trying to fathom how a team could play a flawless match without conceding a single 10 metre penalty. Petro was regularly offside and Farah tried to exploit that, although the refs remained silent.

Well, I suppose the Tigers have far greater issues to address, their inept defence in particular.

Congrats to Penrith and based on their attacking prowess displayed tonight the groundsman should be instructed to prepare a faster pitch in future!

All raiders fans should f**k off to their 1991 premiership. Also they are last on the ladder. You lost to us ok?

I see, so Its ok for you guys to have a whinge about your games referees?? A tad bit hypocritical I think.

I dont see what 1991 has got to do with this? 89 premiership would probably have a little more.....

hahah you're pathetic. I think this deserves a thread in the main forum - Should the Tigers be given a 20 point head start every game?

LMFAO it Tigers fans. That was one of the better refereeing performances of the year. Still far from perfect. But an improvent. Tigers should have been able to take us toward the end with the match fitness. But Panthers put on a margin in the last 5 minutes even after a short 5 day turnaround.

The odds were against the Panthers. We smashed them. Should have been our third win in a row. But Doggies cheated against us.

Penrith won in 91, Raiders won 89 and 90. ;-)

Great win. Thought we were gone with about 20 to go but we lifted. Robbie Farah is a f**king freak, very dangerous player.

If you look through the archives you would be lucky to find more than 1-2 teams a year that concede as few penalties as Penrith managed tonight (in effect 1). I suggest that it had nothing to do with Penrith's discipline (take off the rose tinted glasses), but inconsistent refereeing in regard to the 10 metres. Having said that, Penrith were vastly better than the Tigers and would have won regardless of favourable refereeing. I would put any amount of money on the Panthers making the top 8 and beating the Tigers at Leichhardt by 13+. While Pritchard, Lewis, Jennings and Petro remain playing we will never never never beat the Panthers.

Oh and thanks for Sheens + Royce + Galea + any other Panther rejects that currently escape my mind.

Tigers_are_Pro you're a lunatic mate. The refereeing was fair and down the middle, no complaints. In fact I thought that they favoured the Tigers somewhat.

Oh, and to coin a phrase you first posted in the Tigers vs Raiders match thread...

Since when does conceding a 9-2 penalty count and a contentious no-try ruling amount to favourable treatment? Anyway mate, any rationale Tigers supporter would admit that the Panthers were the better side. The questionable officiating had no bearing upon the final result. And therein lies the difference between Tigers and Canberra supporters on these forums.

BTW the Tigers are a mediocre side that happened to beat two other mediocre sides (Canberra + Easts) and lose to two sides in or around the 8. I assure you that its comforting to accept the reality of your side's failings rather than continuing under the illusion that they are superstars only to be cheated by referees.

So as a supporter I can't have a whinge about the refs if I follow the raider's? It seems that every other supporter can...including you lot, so pardon me if I feel like poking a bit of sh*t at you because of it.

You are the biggest idiot to grace this forum.

A 9-1 penalty count.

A blatant strip on their line and then the moron ref calling a penalty against us a tackle after it.

A blatant knock on and forward pass.

A.... Just f**k off already, you can't understand what i'm writing.

How could he? You've made half that sh*t up. There were no blatantly wrong calls that favoured either team. (That i recall. we might have gotten one and i was so happy i didn't care) For the most part though, we just had a few 50/50 calls go our way for a change. It was about time. Typically we're good for several bullsh*t penalties against us and 2 or 3 disallowed tries in a game. Luckily last night the referee finally gave us a fair game.

But keep blaming the referee. I'm sure you can find 21+ points worth of errors to prove that you should have won....

Sorry Pemriff but if you think the ref dudded you at any point you're kidding. 1 first half penalty to the Tigers and the next not coming until well after the 50min mark... then Cummins even getting in the path of a Tigers defender. Penrith deserved to win - they were the better team, but the rub of the green went their way as well.

Exactly Timmah,we were ordinary and Penrith were the better team, but geez Louise the ref was only officiating one team.
I blame Sheens,he picks the teams and makes the game plan,if they actually had one,so get your sh1t together Tim or get out.
