Panthers were beyond pathetic tonight, I wlaish they had disallowed that Michael Gordon try tho be honest, It ruined the only thing we had going for us at the moment. Penrith were terrible and didn't deserve to win. Matt Elliott is stilll as sh*t as ever. FFS i hope he is fired soon. Worst coach ever.

According to the Penrith management this game was going to be an indication of the Panthers season.

I guess no finals this year.

They're suffering from complancency and it's only going to be a matter of time until a top line team teaches them another lesson like the Dragons did.

Maybe, but we're getting the 2 points and that's all that matters at the moment. It's a long season... you can't expect them to put in a perfect performance every week. If they were playing like this in Round 20 I'd say we're little chance of winning a premiership.. but it's round 6, so who cares? Not me.

Only really had a problem with Delawhateverthef**k his name is. You just knew everytime he had control penrith were going to get screwed.

That isn't why we lost the game though. We just played dumb footy for the umpteenth time in the past 5 years. Shame to because if we turned up and played the way we had the past 4 weeks the Broncos were there for the taking.

You must be having a laugh, yeah?

Try supporting a struggling team and then you might know how we feel :? It does appear that we get a raw deal from the officials. Not that they do it deliberately but if we were one of the top clubs like the Broncos, we wouldn't be on the wrong end of so many 50/50 interpretation type calls because we'd command more respect. The refs are human and make mistakes. They just seem to make more against Penrith than most.

Of course we would've lost anyway because we played dumb footy last night. If we lose the next two then the bye is the perfect time to piss Elliot off.

You can't play well for about 40 minutes (20 in each half) and expect to win a game. Penrith had their chances to lock it up, but kept stuffing it up with poor ball security (especially Iosefa and his 'showpony' tactics). Yes, we were dudded by the Winterstein try, but I'm convinced that the Gordon try was a square up - a fair amount of doubt in the legality of the contest for the ball with Tighe.

Brisbane did enough to win by taking their chances when they could. Well done to them.

We'll get smashed by the Titans Monday week if we dish that tripe out again.

Elliott was gone at the end of last season the only reason his still here is financial. Our improvement this year has come soley from the players and there desire to play for each other.

In the technical aspects which the coach should be dealing with we are still complete rubbish.

Yes, the Broncos are loved by all refs and always receive the 50/50 calls because we're a better team. Are you for real? Seriously?

Not you, but I'm sick of many who never give the Broncos credit for a victory. We weren't too crash hot last night, but out comes the old predictable line of "The Broncos didn't win, *the opposition* lost" or "Wait until they come against a top team".

Well, that's been the first six weeks anyway... so I'm wondering why we're bothering? Cut the Roosters, Storm, Cowboys, Warriors and Panthers from the season now because they're just no-hopers, and let's all hope like hell this "luck" from the Broncos runs out soon. Luck's all you need to win five from six in the NRL, don't you know?

Let's sum up the Broncos season so far, just for those who have missed the LU commentary

Round 1 - Defeated Cowboys. Only won because a streaker interrupted play at a vital moment. Cowboys was robbed.

Round 2 - Defeated Storm. The ref missed Cronk throwing forward passes all night, but then missed a Broncos knock-on, which led to a try, which led to them winning the match 35 minutes later. Storm was robbed.

Round 3 - Defeated Warriors. Dominant performance results in silence on LU.

Round 4 - Beaten by Dragons. 86 threads started on the myths of the Broncos, how sh*t Lockyer is, karma from the Super League war and talk of a possibly Broncos wooden spoon.

Round 5 - Defeated the Roosters. Let in too many late tries, should've lost, only won due to luck, the refs were also surely biased.

Round 6 - Defeated Penrith. Sorry, ahem, Penrith defeated themselves. An under 6 team would've beaten the panthers tonight.

Keep it coming Shorty, Pantherz et al. It's awesome stuff.

Nailed it.

Sure, our defence has improved this year, but it goes back to the desire to play for each other.

But our attack is still quite scratchy. In broken play, it looks good, and Penrith can create a try from nothing. But when on the fifth tackle, especially in the 'red zone', most of the options just plain suck. It goes back to our halves (or rather lack of it).

Last night, in my opinion, was the reality check that we needed. Perhaps all the positive media in the last week or so about how Penrith have turned a corner, etc. perhaps got to our heads. There is still a long way to go before we can be classed as genuine premiership contenders.

As for round 5...the Nate Myles penalty, wtf? Mind you we didn't deserve to win either, defence was not existent...but still there was only one try in it...

I have never seen the Broncos play so bad and still win by 20. I thought Winterstein's 1st try was a knock on. Good to see cutie inject himself into the game a bit.
I thought Waterhouse and Jennings were great for Penrith. After their forwards knocked on a few times, they went sideways too much and gave their backs nothing to work with.
