Disappointed to see the video ref ruin what would have been a great finish by incorrectly awarding the Eels' last try and incorrectly denying the Cowboys a try.

For the Eels try, there was clearly on offside player within 10 metres and advancing towards the ball, and I'm still scratching my head as to how the video ref ruled that the Cowboys player somehow did something wrong at the end, that was a clear try.

That's at least 2 matches Parra have won this year due solely to poor officiating.

Also interesting to note: no Grubmarsh and they finally get a win. They should keep him out longer if they want to keep winning.
Lol, you are one funny f**kwit.

A couple of ridiculous decisions ruined what could have been an excellent finish to this game.

First, we have 80kg thurston penalised for "tackling" a 120kg prop who was trying to run through him to get to a lose ball.

Then, we have a penalty given to parramatta after Bird deliberately tried to obstruct Williams from getting to the ball.

If they even make 1 correct call out of those 2 I think the cowboys could have snatched victory. Parramatta were shot for the last 10 minutes of that game.
1. Bird is in france.
2. Burt was trying to catch it but was taken out.

i didn't realise we should take into account players weights when assessing penalties.

We should when they go down like they've been shot.

There is no way known Thurston has anywhere near the strength to put Moi Moi on his ass like that. He clearly took a dive.

we were $hit for the first 50 mins.

Still thought our last disallowed try should have been awarded. I don't think Williams took out the eels player in the air at all, you could see from the head on vision it looked more like he tried to get his arms behind the parra lad to try and bat the ball backwards to try and let someone dive on it than actually try to spoil the lad mid air. That would have made the game very exciting but in all honesty, would have been a travesty for the eels who were the better side on the night and really showed up to play from the first few minutes.

I think the cowboys really need a good hard look at themselves to be honest. Everyone says the same thing about their own side when faced with a bit of a rough patch, but really, on paper we have a decent side and I think we were lucky last week to get away with a win that was as lucky as it was, the week before, similar but I thought we were the better side that arvo.

Webb is a deadset myth, the sooner they putz the fat c%nt off to the UK or somewhere else where they accept old has been fat pr!cks the better for the whole side. He has as much impact as a wet tissue. Been about 4 years since we actually looked like a decent side..............oh well.

Taken out my ass.

The ball went BEHIND Burt. He was clearly jumping away from the ball in a deliberate attempt to shield any attacking chance at the ball.

100% try

LOL...I must say, I'm unaware of the rule that states the man jumping for the ball can be an obstructing player in that same motion...must be so new it's not in the books yet.

Burt played it very smart, he jumped in a manner that meant Williams had to take him out to get at the ball. The rule may not be 100% perfect, but by the rule, it was the right call.

thats the thing though, I don't think Williams took Burt out with a tackle mid air. He was (IMO) looking more to try and bat the ball back, and the only way to do that was get his arms around behind Burt (this is all millisecond $hit here mind you). I would have no qualms in the penalty being awarded if it was pretty conclusive that it was penalty worthy, but geez, that was pretty harsh against him. If that's the sort of thing they are going to call a mid air tackle, then seriously, that is pretty f$%king soft. I still reckon it should have been awarded a try, it's all fish and chips now though.

Well done to the Eels, you showed up.

The one thing that really gets to me about watching the Cowboys play sometimes is that you can quite often tell in the opening 5 or so minutes if we're going to have a good game or a stinker, the first try was against the run of play so i can cop that but even before the Eels scored their second you could just tell by looking at our players that they hadn't shown up to play at all. Theres nothing worse than watching a completely dissinterested team play.

If theres any consolation that can come from this game for me its that for how terrible we played, we still only lost by 10. Parra really should have put us away by 30.

The Eels deserved that win, don't know what they would have done if they lost that. Cowboys didn't show up for 60 minutes and in the end left way too much to do. Eels defence looked a lot better than usual while the Cowboys one started leaking points.

I still can't believe they won. Where was that type of effort hiding a couple of weeks ago, when I tipped them to beat the Bulldogs?

i'd be worrying about your own teams type of effort before anyone elses ;-)
Thank you for that insight.

My point was, I've tipped them a number of times this year in expectation of a good performance, only to be disappointed by their effort.

About the only fun I'm having this season is the tipping comp. Last night they cost me a tip, that's all. :x

f**k me, what kind of sh*t is this.

Id love to know what Neil Henry's away record is as head coach, he can't prepare for away games for sh*t. (I know they smacked the Sharks not long ago, but it was the Sharks ffs.)
