The NRL have already said they cannot do that. They have to completely shed their team and players to get under the cap.

so its ok for the dogs to take pay cuts in 02/03 and stay together? they went on to win the comp in 04 with an illegal team....

every team that plays them this year will be cheated, they have been found out yet still continue to field the same team that got found out

the only fair way is to strip them of players now, not next season

100% correct Twizzle. They are still being allowed to field a team that breaches the rules of the NRL and must be made to cut their player group to bring them within the salary cap immediately, not next year. They may not be accruing any points but they still have the potential to rob other teams of their points by fielding an illegal squad. Any team who gets beaten by the storm this year should be getting their lawyers to look at it because they have strong legal grounds to appeal and have the result of the game overturned.

Surely the bloke is entitled to at least ONE good game in four or five seasons....
