The Raiders have the history. It is at home and the side is in decent form. They can't expect to just win one half to win the game here though. Need a full 80 minute effort from the lads.

Dragons will have us in huge trouble if the boys have a poor first half again.

I hope the Dragons win tonight but in doing so they get busted up and with the shorter turn around they arent able to get up for this game.

massive crowd and the bogie thing we have going , Raiders to win

Personally I think the history is irrelevant, as is the game in the 'Gong, where both teams had a truckload of players out. Canberra got us on the slide last year. They may win this purely because of desperation - they lose and their season is over, whereas we're almost guaranteed a top 4 spot, and if we win tonight, the MP. However, with all our key players back, I think we'll break the hoodoo.

You guys had won 7 straight or something like that before we played you.
We may have caused your slide .

Yep, 7 in a row. To say Canberra got the Dragons on the slide last year is a breathtakingly dishonest attempt at rewriting history.

Some stats:

Total matches between Raiders and St George Illawarra:
Played 18, Raiders 11, Dragons 6, Draw 1

Last 11 matches:
Raiders 10 (including last 4 in a row), Dragons 1

At Canberra Stadium:
Played 9, Raiders 7 (including last 7 in a row), Dragons 2

The Dragons haven't won at Canberra Stadium since 2000. 10 years of total domination.

I'm picking that to continue this week.

I think our slide last year started after our win against Melbourne at Kogarah. That game was like a GF, and we never recaptured our form after that night. A week later we played poorly and scraped home at Penrith. I know our first loss was against Canberra, but I think it started from the Penrith game after Melbourne.

that game against us had a semi final atmosphere about it , it was a tough game that I thought we physically bashed the Dragons. The Raiders play at a level that night that we hadnt played all year. After our game the Dragons didnt win too many.

If Canberra play anything like they did against us, then they're in big trouble.

Yeah no doubt you guys have dominated us over the years, interesting to note this aswell..............

Total Points Scored (Average)
Raiders 370 (20.55)
Dragons 395 (21.94)

Raiders 1-12 wins-8
Raiders 13+ wins-3

Dragons 1-12 wins-3
Dragons 13+ wins-3

Also there has been 7 field goals kicked in the 18 meetings

Tends to mean Raiders love the close affairs so 1-12, otherwise Dragons 13+ going off those points scored overall

History isn't good for the Dragons here. I remember the game last year. It was incredible. A few punch ups and the Raiders just smashing the Dragons right off the park and starting the slide.

Wouldn't surprise me it at all to see history repeat itself. Canberra are on a bit of a roll and have the forwards to do it again.

We may have won 7 straight, but the 7th win (against Penrith) was a mirage. I can recall the game vividly, and how pissed off I was for most of it despite the seemingly comfortable win. The problem was we put so much energy, physical and emotional, into rolling Melbourne (and breaking our hoodoo against them), that we simply couldn't back up. The actual visible slide started in the second half against Canberra, but the signs were there the previous week.

As for 10 years of total domination (we'll just quietly ignore 2007), bring on the arrogance. Will make a win so much sweeter (though of course it will be all the refs fault).

I always look forward to these clashes, largely because Canberra just tend to go bat sh*t crazy when they come up against the Dragons.

I expect Shillo and Weyman to go toe to toe on more than one occasion.
