The problem is if hayne goes to fullback queensland will be scoring freely, hayne played on the wing for all rep games so he isnt out of position.

At fullback in a rep game he will be out of position, he doesnt have the defense or reading of the play to be a rep fullback

What are you going on about?

Hayne's position is full back. The selectors either select him based on his merits as fullback and put him there or judge that he isn't our best fullback and leave him out.

To say he would be out fo position at fullback is ridiculous, that is the position he plays at club level.

I think Creagh and Kimmorley were close to the best two on the field - it was the other 15 muppets that killed us.

We need to get a second playmaker in there, the lack of another proper kicking option killed us!

Idris - what was the point? Rubbish.

And as much as I think Gidley isn't the man at the back, there's no way they don't pick him.

The team I hope they go with for game 2 is then:

1-Gidley
2-B.Morris
3-Cooper
4-Lyon
5-Hayne
6-Campese
7-Kimmorley
8-Weyman
9-Ennis
10-White
11-Creagh
12-Watmough
13-Gallen

14-Lewis
15-Learoyd-Lahrs
16-Perry
17-Snowden

I agree with Creagh but not Kimmorley. Yes he tried hard and didn’t do much wrong and defended well but we need more than that. Trying hard and having a “solid” game just doesn’t cut it at origin level.

We have a few halves options who are defensively just as good and who offer more flare than Kimmorley does. I would rather a Pearce or Campese or Mullen or whoever to try something different and possibly make a mistake than to have Kimmorley play another “solid” game in another losing performance.

Lock it in Eddie!

This Is going to be Kimmorley's last series either way..

Great win by the Maroons, far too classy even when the conditions didn't suit them.

Forwards laid a great platform and the halves pairing of Lockyer and Thurston were able to capitalise and even compliment the forward pack with their respective performances.

I thought the Blues were very solid. Their game plan was fairly obvious and to a degree it worked but at times you'll find they were their own worst enemy. If the selectors are smart they'll largely just move a few players around and make a few small changes for the benefit of the side.

With that said, bring on Suncorp!

Wow. The Bitterness. LOL

I suggest you all take a look at both those try's again.

The Greg Inglis Try - Idris was marking 2 players due to Lyon not sliding across.

Lockayers try. Are you serious? Idris had nothing to do with that.

Lyon was sliding and still sliding when Thurston threw the ball, Idris had eyes only for Taylor who was the third man in, he had no business going in like that.

Just watched some highlights and the first Maroons try was almost solely down to GI inside run, watch the 3 NSW defenders.

Classic stuff.

Very true about Kimmorley and Creagh!

I would go with:

1) Hanye
2) B.Morris
3) Lyon
4) J.Morris
5) Robertson, Dugan, Idris or Jennings
6) Barrett
7) Kimmorley (c)
8) Weyman
9) Ennis
10) Perry
11) Hindmarsh
12) Creagh
13) Watmough

14) Gidley
15) Learoyd-Lahrs
16) Lewis
17) Mason or O'Donnell

All those selecting Kimmorley - he got his arse handed to him by Thurston last night, and it would have been worse if it was dry. He is the first one that needs to be dropped. It would be worth the punt on Pearce...

Who is game to put money on a form reversal in canetoad land? Most NSW forum posts before this game were pointing out the obvious, that the team sucked because of players being picked out of position and players being picked over others. It's a cold day in hell when QLD supporters dare question which players are selected for the Morons....they just accept that whoever is selected will give a 5 star account of themselves in most instances. After watching 30 years of SOO this logic has rarely changed. It's no good the Blues leaving their best for a dead rubber like last year, but I fear this campaign is already lost. The selectors are mainly to blame for not having the foresight to pick for the future for starters....and this philosophy can go back to 2006. My opinion after my rant........pick for the future (selectors and players). Also, I agree with previously expressed opinions on this forum that the SOO coach should not be a current club coach. Having said that.........Go the Blues!!!

What's one good thing Matt Cooper has done this year? Or in the last 3 to be honest. The guy doesn't pass and has issues with his hands on numerous occassions.

You are a fool, do you even watch RL??? Doesn't pass:crazy:. How do you think Morris gets most of his tries??? He had a bad game but those who think that makes him a sh*t player are f**king idiots!

Kimmorley is balls, he doesnt create anything. He's good at finding space with kicks and chasing them and thats it. I laughed out loud when he threw that hospital pass to creagh.

I think the spine has to be:

1. Hayne
6. Campese
7. Pearce
9. Farah

NSW were sh!t last night. I am a Lyon fan, but he looked so much better in the last 20 when he moved out wide. He is not an Origin 5/8.
Watmough to 2nd row and Gallen or Bird to lock.
Carney to 5/8 and Pearce to 1/2
SO.. something like this
Hayne
Morris
Lyon
Morris
Tahu
Carney
Pearce
Weyman
Ennis
TLL
Watmough
Creagh / Waterhouse
Bird/Gallen

Gidley
Waterhouse / Creagh
Kite
Douglas / Ryles / Big Red from tiger (if fit)

That my 20c worth!

But has got to be better than what we have

We looked strongest at the end when the positional reshuffle took place - Hayne at the back and Gidley into 5/8th.

I don't think we need to change the team too much... but there are a couple of areas needing addressing.

Assuming Cooper will be gone through injury:

1. Hayne
2. B Morris
3. Lyon
4. Tahu
5. J Morris
6. Gidley (other possibles Barrett, Finch, Soward)
7. Kimmorley
8. Weyman
9. Ennis
10. Snowden
11. Watmough
12. Creagh or Lewis
13. Gallen

14. Idris
15. Learoyd-Lahrs
16. Waterhouse, Lewis or Creagh
17. Douglas or J King

What we need is a reasonable amount of consistency, changes more forced than media or public-driven.

Part of the tragedy behind support for NSW at the moment is that everyone in the media and the public has an opinion on who should and shouldn't play and when the players are picked, irrespective of what that side is, bagging the absolute sh*t out of it. Queensland, it's public and their media, to their credit, get behind the players in the side win lose or draw. We seem to bag the sh*t out of ours and it's f**king shameful.

As a result of the public and media support, that side is relatively consistent and you rarely hear it bagged. That's why I'd stick with the bulk of the players, let them build a rapport, even if we have to cop a few more losses on the chin. The constant pressure to change players and combinations is painful and depressing.

What's depressing Tim is the fact that you think people on a forum disgareeing with selections somehow affects whether they win or lose

On a forum?

Do you pay attention to anybody in the world outside the forum?

The media lampoons the selection of the side and has done since Joey left. The general public (yes, outside these forums too) all tear the side apart - in ways Queensland fans never have and likely never will. No wonder they claim to have more passion than us, we spend our time criticising our own team.

It's a general air of confidence from the fans of the side that helps QLD over the line whether you agree with that or not - something NSW doesn't enjoy because of a divisive, self-important attitude from the local fans and media. Webcke and Roach on the MJ show tonight had it spot on. Why we can't be more supportive of the side like QLD seem to be has me stumped.
