I was very impressed with the way the Dragons respected their opponent yesterday. They appear to have acknowledged the possibility that Manly could beat them and made quite certain it did not happen. The performance had Bennett written all over it.

Manly gave it everything until they no longer had any chance, then they threw it in. At 14-0, with just one try conceded, their hearts were broken. They knew they could not score 3 times against this side.

The battle between Manly's defence and the Dragons attack was a fair matchup. But Dragons defence vs Manly attack was a total mismatch.

St George will face much stronger attacking outfits before this comp is over. But if they continue to show their opponents the respect they showed Manly yesterday, I don't think they'll be stopped.

If it was the

If Manly had half a decent side out there they would have put 2-3 tries on in that first half

Yeah and if my uncle had tits he'd be my aunty.

Bottom line is none of these "half decent" sides could win the minor premiership for the chance to test your theory out.

Get through the Tigers this Friday and then we'll see what the green machine have. The Raiders obviously have it in them to beat the Dragons but they'll need to be on their game.

P.S. Are you even going to the game this Friday or are you just a keyboard warrior?

No raw nerves from me, just trying to understand the motivation behind your clearly outrageous statements.

Anyway have fun doing whatever you will be on Friday night.

Ironically enough I'll be cheering on the Raiders at Canberra Stadium ...

I don't get why people are going on about the penalty count.
Lets take that into perspective here.
Saints recieved 10 penalties, a few of them were blatant, a few could have gone one way or the other (BTW, that can be said for ALL GAMES THIS WEEKEND!) BUT exactly what the f**k do you expect the referee to do when:

a) The ball does not go 10 metres from the kick off.
His hands are tied there, he has to give the f**king penalty, theres one on the count that can't be avoided.
The fact TW could not get the f**king thing more than 10 metres and the tactic to "shock and surprise" backfired is not the home sides fault.

b) Darius gets slammed and choked
I am sure if it happened to someone in your team and it was overlooked you'd be happy about it?
No?
Good,now f**k off.
Let it go for all I give a sh*t, why not let all the dirty play go, lets just throw the rule book out the f**king window and let the players go head hunting.
I can only imagine the level of crying if it had been a Jeremy Smith stiff arm cracking Josh Dugan across the jaw snapping it in f**king two or Weyman grabbing hold of Shillington and going to town on his face.

So of those 10 that were awarded, 2 he had no choice in, so theoretically call it 8 to 5, which is about normal, the fact Manly decided to slow it down in Saints end and give away brain dead penalties is not the home sides fault.

Also, on the Boyd penalty and any penalty awarded after it got to 14-0, I think even the most ardent Manly supporter would admit that after 60 minutes of trying to score for no success that Manly had well and truly done their f**king dash, award the penalties or not, they were f**king done for the day.

Dragons were way to good, clinical in the suffocation of the eagles, perfect Bennett game plan.
Dragons look real good to me this year and no matter what the other fans want to believe this team never got out of first gear and will be very hard to beat.
Congrats!
To the eagles, credit were credit is due, they were busted all over the park, lost 2 more for the game in the run of the game, but still held thier heads up for atleast 60 mins, then it was just too much.
To the dragons fans in here suggesting the refs helped stop the dragons from blowing past the eagles by 50+ - PLEASE! the refs in no way had any effect on the result of the game for the eagles, but they certanly weren't calling anything in our favour.
The home side and firm favourite will always get all the 50/50 calls and the dragons got thiers yesterday, just as we have had ours in recent years.

Not that I care but I do enjoy a good nitpicking, if you're going to discount blatant penalties then you have to do it for both sides, there was at least 1 from the Dragons which takes the ratio back to 2:1.

We kicked 4 penalty goals. I have a suspicion Manly might have deliberately given away one or two knowing we would take the two rather than risk conceding 6.

If it was the Titans/Raiders/Roosters/Tigers they would have put 50 on that band aid side, no question. 28 points is terrible. Can't see many points being scored by the Dragons at all.

People will just follow the Raiders game plan of penetrate, penetrate, penetrate and the defence will crack. If Manly had half a decent side out there they would have put 2-3 tries on in that first half

Why did you guys only score 24 against a Penrith side who lost Pritchard / Waterhouse, had no Petero, no Coote, and Grant was also busted.
Really you probably should have won by 40+
Worrying signs right there.
