Idris had it ALLLLL over Tahu 2 weeks ago. No denying it.
Idris has been strong tonight. No errors, some good runs (but has been shut down very very well by the Dragons defence) and he hasn't even had a chance to jump for a high ball. If anyone is saying he can't jump, PLEASE. Hang your head in shame. He hasn't had a chance tonight, he keeps getting blocked by Cooper.
As for this game...
That first half is exactly the reason why I get the sh*ts when people talk up how well we've played in patches this year and how we can take so much out of games... It's crap. A premiership winning team can play for 80 and at the moment, we play for 20.
We started off so well, a great try to Morris and great attack. We again pinned them down in their end but the story of the year is we can't score and that continued.
In the first half, we had 5 or 6 chances to score and really looked like scoring, but couldn't. The Dragons had 2 chances to score.. They scored on both occasions. That just shows a lot about our attack, defence and attitude over all this year and it isn't pretty. Until we can learn to win the grinds and play for 80 then we won't go far. I don't buy into this bull about "Oh well we looked good in patches and we played well, I'm proud of their effort.." Bull. We have a side capable of so much more but for 10 weeks now, bar a couple of occasions, we look like a bottom 8 team. We really do.
We need to improve and the start of the much showed what we can do but we just couldn't go on with it. The Dragons were average in the first half but did what we would expect a good team to do (like us last year) and convert their chances, defence well, win the grind and get back into the swing of things. They did it well.
A big 2nd half coming up for the 20-minute Bulldogs to show if we really can match it this year or if we're going to be fighting for a spot in the 8. Come on Doggies!
