You got no depth, youve been struggling with your stars,, you cant score points...I wont write yous off, theres still time for a run but youve really shown nothing much this year bar the dragons game...I have Manly @700 big ones in a fkn sweep too

One of the reasons we needed Hoppa at fullback, Farrar in the centres and Williams out where he has done pretty well most of the year.

Agreed. Wingers playing at centre are usually disasters. Williams makes enough defensive errors at wing as it is. Easiest position to be caught out in defence. I'd even go on to say, play Matai off the bench or in the forwards cause he comes in too much on defence. Good teams will target it all game. Whare seems a bit small for centre as well.

Rodney King played well.

Manlys attack is pretty predictable. Backline movement with one man short and fullback behind him. Need more plays around the ruck, inside balls, and backing up.

If Manly makes the 8 and gets full side together going into finals they big chance. That game means nothing. Only problem is when do have full strength side they gotta learn to play like in 1st half of games. If they play like have all year in 1st halves for 80 minutes they will beat anyone. I believe if they have no injuries leading to finals and only make bottem half of top 8 they a massive chance.

Matai is fine at centre, he has his own style and it works. The main part we are missing him is his dummy half running, his runs create momentum in those early tackles which the forwards play off.

David Williams had similar impact out of dummy half, won't be seeing him back though.

We dearly miss Williams' speed out wide and Stewart up the middle, don't think we score many tries from outside the 20 these days without those 2 to finish off, we're so slow.

The two points are banked and the losers can please themselves. We looked good in patches and the level of enthusiasm tonight = the rest of the season combined... hopefully that's our turning point.

The silvertails had nothing but the ref and we still dodged the bullet. James looked more than useful and his eyeing off of that sheila Perry was gold. Taga on the right looked solid too but when will Carty get rid of that liability Mini and remind Laffranchi that reputations are earned on the field and not in the newspaper?

Onya boys... any win is a good win.

I always worry about Matai's defence. Hes a big hitter that rushes out of the line or comes in. He's the best dummy half runner though. And gives it 100%, unlike T-Rex. T-Rex bombs so many tries at wing as well cause he stands too shallow to run onto the ball. And speedier wingers can catch him. I'd keep Hoppa and drop Rex when the team strengthens up. Ballin needs to run more outta dummy half. I'd always thought Stranger was a better attacking hooker than Ballin.

Manly aren't a chance of winning the premiership, not with two very inexperienced halves. You can right off the Titans aswell.

Wow, the refs really tried to get Manly back in that game. The ridiculous 8 point try and the howling missed knock on.

Regardless of last nights effort, in my view, Manly will be one of the top 4 finishers this year.

When the whips start cracken, Manly will be there. If any team is going to make life difficult for the Saints come semi finals, it will be Manly.

I am not worried yet, just missing too many class players. If we had Lyon, Matai and Choc all in the side and played like last night I would be concerned. Things should improve once we get them back on deck.

Stewart / Williams / Matai / Lyon / Watmough all missing, all internationals.
How good did brisbane look when they had 5 stars missing earlier in the year?
We like most side lack the depth to cover 5 internationals, we won't get 2 of them back this year, but the other 3 over the next couple of weeks will make a big difference to this side.

I agree it will be a big challenge with 2 young halves, but foran is a current NZ player, and Hodgkinson looks beter with Lyon in his ear.

You're doing yourself a disservice writing us off at the moment. We're missing our best backline players and it's showing. I've got no doubt that Whare and Hoppa jnr are going to be great but without Lyon and Matai inside them they're lost. I wouldn't be writing off either team from last night.
