I dont understand why they stopped the game for Morris, he copped a little tap and stayed down, the dragons were on the back foot. Think back to the earlier rounds this season and Covell did his ACL, they didnt stop play they just got him up and carried him off.

The vid ref said something to the control ref (think it was Archer). He called one of them out, and gave them a warning for it. In other words, it was a "It would have been a penalty if I saw it" speech.

I agree they shouldn't call time off, but imo it was because the vid ref had a word in his ear.

Still doesn't take away from the fact that up to the point that Archer had a brain fart, it was 2 tries to 1, with a strong chance of it turning into 2 tries each.

YES, the Sharks need to convert their chances into points, but FMD.

Why am I worked up? Because we get very few chances to win games these days. Especially against you pricks. I HATE IT when a referee has an impact like that on a game. THAT is why my friend.

Fair enough, Morris ran into him.

BTW when did the rule change regarding strips in the tackles?

Saints - 300 tackles
Sharks - 263 tackles

Errors
Saints - 7
Sharks - 12

Missed Tackles
Sharks - 26
Saints - 19

Penalties = 6 to 2 in favor of Cronulla

The ref had very little to do with you guys losing that game, f**k me dead you guys had 5 uninterupted minutes at one point on the Saints line and came away with nothing.
If you can't breach a line more than once after spending pretty much 30 minutes on it or near it, you don't deserve to f**king win :x

the reffing wasnt too crash hot. On the replay it was obvious that as soon as Soward went to kick Barrett shifted 3m into the path of Morris and did lower his shoulder. Again some excellent calling by the commentators to say he purely ran into him. The stopping of the play seemed to be the Dragons just using a rule to help them out, cheeky for sure and i dont agree with the play stopping. Watching live the original angle of Gallens effort showed his ball carrying arm clearly touch the ground and then he had a 2nd dig. Funnily enough they never showed that camera in any of the multiple replays. Dragons were dudded in that as the Sharks got more plays when we should have had a penalty. Rather than lay the blame on the ref's for a couple of things that shouldnt have gone your way how about some applause for a defense that allowed you only one try when the game was spent 70% of the time in our half. If we gave a team like Melbourne that sort of field position we would have been hammered on the scoreboard.

The reason the play was stopped when Morris went down is because it was a suspected spinal injury. Basically any incident where there is contact with the head/neck and the player becomes unresponsive is regarded as a suspected spinal injury.

In any instance of a suspected spinal injury, the trainer and the referees have a duty of care to stop play. The correct procedure was followed by both trainer and officials.

Sure it didn't help the Sharks, but put things into perspective; we are fortunate that we have not had serious spinal injuries occuring in rugby league, and that can be put down to these kinds of procedures being implemented.

Well according to 2GB Archer has admitted his mistake on the Gallen try and apologised to Cronulla !

He should have sent it upstairs, where it would have promptly been ruled a double movement and penalty to Saints. There is no way on earth it was a try. Gallen's momentum was stopped with 3 players on him, then he clearly made a second effort to get the ball on the line.

I thought Cronulla fans were deluded, I never realised quite how deluded they really are...

The refs did their level best to keep you in the game. A pity your team was too f**king useless to take advantage.

I'm looking at a slo mo of Gallen well short of the line with the arm carrying the ball on the ground. He then makes an exaggerated 2nd movement to get the ball on the line. It would never have been a try. It's a real shame that when they replayed it, they didn't replay the original view which is damning.

Sharks battled bravely as expected, but the Dragons were too good in the end. Dragons were deserved winners, but the scoreline flattered them by probably a try.
