Geez it's fustrating being a panthers supporter at the end of a season.
Well done to the tigers.
I hope this is the final kick in the ass that we needed.

I've said all this season that if the Panthers do not make the 8 this year, then I will not bother go to any games next season. 5 seasons of nothing and the possibility of 6 still alive, who'd be a panthers fan?. De ja vu of Round 23 last year, destroyed again in a big away game and letting in an embarassing score to the Tigers ffs, a team we're supposed to be able to beat, but obviously we can't win a game when it actually matters. I give up, if we make the 8 we won't do anything, but that would be ok as all I asked is for them to make the 8 and even that might not happen with the way they're going. They'll be lucky to beat Souths next week on this form, what a disgrace that a team can't win when the pressure is on.

Also what about the refereeing? again terrible it helped us get on the back foot, then we do the rest and capitulate only the way we can.

5 years of no finals, and it might be 6 years the way we are going. It sucks being a Panther fan at the moment. :(

You're soft... I've been supporting Souths since 1990--- and NEVER had a winning season. And only made the finals ONCE! And you are crying about nothing.

Well I'd still support them but just wouldn't put so much interest into it. I've got enough issues in my life without stressing myself out over a footy team.

Souths may have a wretched record over the past 20 years but you still have your history to be proud of. We only have 2 premierships. We've only made the finals 8 times in 43 years. Penrith are a disgrace with this kind of poor form at the back end of seasons. There was no excuse for today, we should be able to beat the Tigers with our bigger pack and there form was no better than ours, but as soon as a team have momentum and confidence they just beat us so easily because our defence is so poor under pressure. Sick of it!

Our attack is looking better but we seem to have lost that constant Juggernaut of pressure which protected our poor defence a bit. I haven't lost all hope yet things could have bbeen very different on that pritchard double movement call today. Also flash Gordon was absolutely immense today. If he isn't at fullback he must be at centre where he can see more ball.

Ecstatic with the win but we have a long way to go before we can compete with teams like St George. I hope this is the start of a golden run.

Purtell needs to be put in a sack with a brick and thrown in the Nepean.

That might be a bit harsh, but he can't stay in the side.

EDIT: Well done tigers. Can't blame anything on bad refereeing calls this week. Exploited our defense and inability to apply ourselves for any real length or time. The one upside is that I'm not once again use to the team losing, so its not as heartbreaking as it was a couple a of weeks ago.

Could Matt Elliott stop pretending to be a coach. Seriously why would carry a guy only capable of doing 10 minutes at a time and is inevitabley going to produce a clanger into a crucial game like this.

Very happy with the win today, first time in a long time our attack really came to life. Probably one of our best games all year (although that's not saying much).

Penrith won't win too many big games when you only give the ball to Jennings 10 times in the game. Gosh Jennings would be wishing he'd be playing for the Titans, etc where centres get the ball in space!

Elliots game plans for big games are a joke. Jennings hardly gets the ball and he has to go looking for it, but when we are working our way out of our own end so often then its hard to get Jennings into space, since the team does not like to spread the ball in its own half. Ellliot is a failure at coaching. The fact that we are 4th under him must be a combination of luck, the heart of Petero and Lewis and the number of inconsistent/poor teams in the comp.

I just want them to make the finals. That's all I asked for at the start of the year. I don't think its too much to ask.....

I don't think it is enough frankly though I would have said something similar at the start of the year too. We were looking like a genuine contender for a good portion of this season, and to fall away like this is just devastating for the loyal fans. If we limp into 7th spot and go out instantly that will not be anywhere near enough for me.

It's the manner in which we're going down too. One of the easier run ins to the finals and we're capitulating. Just like every year under Elliott. Bar the year we were garbage the whole time and got the spoon of course.

Thank you Elliott for not only picking Daine Laurie in the side but also replacing Petro with him in the 63rd minute. He was almost man of the match for the Tigers. f**k he is sh*t

This game was anyone's with 10 minutes to go at 24-18 although history will record a shellacking. I'm sure Tiger fans were biting their nails at that point.

The turning point was Dane Laurie trying to milk a penalty. The Tigers were quite slow getting off him and if he'd not taken a couple of steps he might have got it. The call could have gone the other way just as easily. Immediately the Tigers got the ball they attacked and scored, and it was one way traffic from then on.

The Tigers should not think their problems are over because they were in serious danger of losing to a pretty ordinary team until this point.
