I thought the Tigers attack was ordinary in the first half but they were dominating at the tackle - they didn't need to do anything but grind away and grubber in-goal.

They looked better in the second half, especially the couple of moments of Benji brilliance.

Actually the Tigers are a lot like the Dragons - a strong, dominant forward pack and solid backs. The difference is the Tigers have what the Dragons desperately need in order to win the comp; a superstar.

If the Tigers keep playing like that they could win the comp again. Parra have the wizardry to win the comp but if they can't learn to grind away they'll be lucky to make the 8. Fui was excellent again but Hindmarsh and Cayless are getting old and Justin Poore has been dreadful this year. He should be the piece missing from last year's premiership loss (that and a halfback) but he could be another Aaron Cannings.

You need a halfback badly and someone to support Moi Moi as well as someone running off Mateo. If Mateo gets to form he's your X-Factor, moreso than Hayne in my opinion. If Poore pulls the finger out and Cayless manages to cart the ball up for more than 3m a hit up, you could be looking good. The loss of Shackleton will hurt big time, he would've been a very good buy this season.

If there's one team I want to see do well (besides the Broncs)it's the Tigers, so happy for them tonight. They actually showed up in defence and played the full game. Was great to see.

No good running off Mateo when the big lug refuses to pass! He could have created a few opportunities tonight, scattered your right hand edge but dummied and ran at the line rather than passing...frustrating. Poore will improve and I wouldn't say Cayless has been bad....if anything, it's the back row letting us down. The props haven't been great but at least Fui and Mannah make metres, Hindy Smith and Mateo have been very quiet with the ball in hand.

But the problem tonight was none of that. The problem tonight was that we didn't wrap the ball up and conceded offloads at will, and we held off Benji and Farah instead of getting up and defending aggressively...and they killed us

Marshall is in fine form tbh. Even last week he was quite good in a side that was pretty much dominated.

Parramatta's single biggest problem is Ben Smith. Seriously. He offers nothing with the ball, nothing in defence, and gives away a minimum of 3 penalties away each game, usually through laziness.

His attitude seems to rub off on the rest of the team. When he's on, the Eels are on, mentally at least.

What? Ben is probably our next best defender after Hindmarsh, rarely misses and often rattles. Then again...I should probably remember who I;m talking to here, carry on...

Never thought I would say this but Parra are missing Lowrie and the constant effort he put in.

and kevin kingstons spark out of dummy half

superstars like hayne & benji get all the limelight but sometimes unsung heroes play significant roles too .

also , age has well & truly caught up with cayless & hindy . they just dont make an impact in A or D anymore .

parra's attack play was going nowwhere and they let their defence down in the most critical moments. Something tells me they'll work on this and come back stronger next week. Frankly, the fact that the tigers didnt get more points on the board was surprising considering the calibre of their attack and defense.

this is why they start slow, they are notorious for lose, win, lose win or vise versa. they get beaten then go and work on why they were then win then lose and it goes on till they hit a groove and win back to back etc

Parra have the wizardry to win the comp .
:lol::lol:

the eels have one attacking player that is hayne , and the eels backline hasnt improved from last year,

the eels wont score 20 points to many times this year, like last year they will struggle to score against the better sides

Well in to the tigers. Parramatta are the pretenders this year and I'm pissed off I didn't use my head when I tipped them. Round three and three sh*t performances from the Eels. Wouldn't be suprised to see them finish outside the 8.

They picked up Tahu in the off-season.

Hayne, Tahu, Grothe, Inu, Mortimer, Mateo, Moimoi - all game breakers. Unfortunately these game breakers have a few bad games in them; when they're good they're world-beaters and when they're bad they're woeful.

The Enigmatic Eels mate. That's why the media's in love with them.
