 @ any Penrith fans willing to blame the referee.

You had a chance to silence the Eels and you blew it with your poor handling.

And even then, think of last week's efforts by the ref. before you blow a gasket.

You are kidding me. I was at the game champ. It was pathetic. Not one offside penalty at all for us. Their markers were never square. It was f**ked. That was why we couldn't get a bloody line break. Every play the ball they were standing bloody 8 meters in.

Cummins and Suttor most definitely saw the centrebet odds of $6 at halftime.

Credit to Parra they took advantage of the things that went their way. Hayne was fantastic.

You aren't upset about the penalty against Poore?
You know the one where he was trying to get to his feet near the play the ball, Jennings pushes him back down which knocked Pritchard over. Penrith get a penalty, and I do believe scored in that set to get back to 30-28.

Ref's called things pretty well I thought.
Parra had 2 deadset flat at best balls called forward, one which looked like it was leading to a try and one before half time down on Penrith's line.

That was a disgrace. The referee made some average calls but our defence was pathetic. Our efforts were about 1% of what the Warriors put in last week. 22 nil is an easily winnable margin. To lose from there is just beyond disgraceful.

Who cares about the refereeing, if we were good enough we would have won that game regardless of the refereeing, after being up 22 - 0.

We can't complain after we got an amazing rub of the green last week. Won the penalty count 11 - 3 didn't we? It comes and goes. It would be good to have more consistency, but it happens to everyone.

This really sucks for us Panther fans. We've gone 5 years without making the finals, the longest of any team in the NRL, and now we've finally had a decent season yet still falling at the final hurdle. Now we get to hear all the commentators go on over and over about how we rely on kicks too much, and death-riding us, especially Gould the f**king wanker. Sigh.

Congrats Parra fans.

hahah wow Parra won. Good fight back. Especially considering how unmotivated they looked at the start of the game.

You bunch of dunces Penrith.

Reminds me of the Raiders vs Tigers match at Bruce this season.

Say what you like about Phil Gould, he had it bang on when he said the kick is all the Panthers have got. 4 tries tonight from kicks, the other from an intercept. That's al, well and good when it works, but when it came to the crunch they had nothing.

The Panthers will not win a finals match in 2010 I have no doubts in my mind.

One of those tries was incredibly poor work at the back by Parramatta and the other one Hayne was in position to cover it but fell over.

So even the tries off kicks weren't textbook

Best game all year IMO. Congrats to Parra and I really can't understand why all you guys are hating on Hayne. He was easily the difference last night. Had a hand in everything and scored another superb long range try.

On top of last weeks game there is no better player in the game when he is on. Tell me who comes close? He scores, creates and backs up.

Not good signs for Penrith - they've faded badly in the back-end of the past five seasons - and last night was not a good sign.

Have Parra got their mojo back though? The win over North Queensland surely didn't, but coming from 22-0 down against a far superior team may well have.

To the Hayne Haters,

I'd like you to please let us know of another player that can do what Hayne did on Saturday night?

He managed to throw face balls and cut-out passes to set up forwards and backs bursting through holes, and then later he spotted a chance to grubber kick for his winger and then had the skill to pull it off.

Ok, so a few halves would be able to do that (though, funnily enough not all of them, including the Parramatta ones), but then how many of them would also have been able to find half-gaps out wide and then use a combination of agility and strength to push through the defensive line and pop passes to players on the run? How many also could defuse a bomb, step off both feet to beat incoming defenders, then spot a gap and accelerate through it, and outpace the defence to go the length of the field?

Anyone?
