I only counted one 50/50 that Newcastle received this afternoon. Canberra certainly receive 99% of the iffy calls, even some blatant ones.

I'll agree with that, pretty much everything went our way. The drop ball try was more than evened up by some dodgy forward pass calls and soft penalties against the Knights.

Hey, I'm not upset that we racked up 52 points. I'm upset that they clocked off after 45 minutes.

That's been a concern all season and today was no exception.

Exactly. I will say they were trying to score. Made a few nice breaks. It was more the defensive lapses.

Now 6/7 this week in tipping thanks to the Raiders.

An absolute cakewalk in the first half there. Clocking off early in the second half was to be expected I guess - although points differential is going to be VERY important in the run home, especially for the Raiders, who still have a -57 differential.

Some of you Raiders fans are absolutely disgraceful. "you spastics" .. "the 2nd half negates the 1st half" ... absolute imbeciles. Be happy that we've blown a side off the park and support our team ffs.

:clap::clap: :clap:

Some of the comments in this thread are disgraceful. Fair dinkum, we could win a grand final and you lot would spend most of the match whinging and whining. f**king numbskulls for fans.

I'm going to focus on the marvelous hat trick by Dugan, one of the best first halves the Raiders have EVER produced, the brutal hits in defense and the fact that we looked dangerous on almost every play.

Sorry to interrupt the emo convention, please continue.

Yep that -18 didn't help but I'll take the +34 for the match.

Yeah, the energy was good.

I think they suffered from being so far in front that they tried to get a bit cute - offloading when they shouldn't, going yourself when you have support etc. because being up by 50 will give you that sort of mentality on the field.

Cronulla (at home) next Saturday for the Raiders - you'd expect them to rack up a score there.

I'm not that worried about playing down here this year. Even if the Raiders dominate, they have proven before that they can't finish games off or even score inside the 20 metre zone. I don't expect a win but feel the two points will come a lot easier down in Canberra this year.

Haha oh dear, well the way WE play down here is certainly getting me worried for the years to come :p

On the game though, our forwards went missing again. Being at the game, it was just so noticeable how much bigger the Raiders pack was. Monaghan was similar in size to most of our forwards. Of course, completely steamrolled up the middle. You could go on about a lot of other things too. Awful defending, McManus' positioning, Gidley's poor options like that hopeful kick for Uate when we could have done with a line drop out to regain some momentum.

I think some of the Raiders fans are being a bit harsh. They had ALL the possession and ALL the 50/50's go their way in the first half. It rarely continues in the second half and it didn't this time. It was a deadly display of error free and simple football which was all they needed to unlock the defence. If the domination went the other way, Newcastle would push passes and try to score off every play. We would have then made mistakes and given away momentum. IMO Canberra would have beaten any team in the comp with that 40 minutes. The Raiders still looked dangerous in the second half but some Uate magic and a 50/50 call going Mullen's way made the scoreboard look a bit more respectable. More atrocious refereeing though most found it amusing apart from some Raiders fans who were furious. Give it a bone, you're 40 up :p The ref just let the Knights play on after a 5 on 1 strip lol

So you were happy with the refs performance skeepe ?

:lol::lol: in anticipation

Not at all. They were disgraceful with some absolutely baffling decisions going both ways. They were only saved from winning the gong for worst refereeing performance of the year by Badger and that other incompetent in the Roosters game.

Given the bold bit, I assume you're referring to all the times I've criticised the team for winning and scoring 50 in the process, as that's what I was commenting on.

As such, I'm sure you can provide me with examples of such comments.

I'm waiting, but I won't hold my breath.

I was more pointing out the fact that your trying to single out people for being unhappy with the second half, and given the way you've carried yourself around here its a little hypocritical of you to attack anyone to be honest skeepe

You need a dictionary. Hypocrisy is criticising others for doing the same thing you yourself do. Given that, I can't see how it applies.

Only skeepe could possibly find a way to blame referees for a 34 point victory.
