How about moving the f**k on and focusing on Game 2? I for one hope Ricky isn't dwelling on this shit. It's not going to change the result of the game and the current 1-0 lead to QLD.
NSW couldn't get the ball across the line other than a scoot from acting half (which was held up) or resorting to kicks in which the outcome is generally 50/50 as it was on the night with 2 tries and several defended by Tate, Thaiday, etc.
NSW looked to have been playing better, but it still has bigger weaknesses than QLD which were exploited by QLD and prevented NSW from capitalising on their territory and possession. This is what the management and players need to concentrate on and improve.
The new right-side defensive combination was exposed and more analysis and work prior to and in the next camp needs to address the assignments and scenarios Carney and J Morris may have to face again - Uate wasn't to blame for those tries. Carney & J Morris' double-team focus on Inglis led to those tries. He was a decoy on both and they both took the bait twice, leaving Uate outnumbered.
Furthermore, there seemed to be no organisation on the 4th and 5th to capitalise on the metres the Blues were gaining on the previous plays. The halves need to get proactive and the ball needs to get to them quickly and cleanly to give them the time and space to launch an attack. This is one area that just doesn't seem to be clicking under Stuart in his tenure which is surprising considering his pedigree as a player. It all appears to be ad hoc sparks down the left-edge with Jennings and Hayne. These plays generally come to an end because of this ad hoc nature and because there isn't the consistent combination like QLD or at club to know where to support or where to position on the next play which generally comes from regularly playing with each other.
It's all good to say 'we were the dominant team', but a team is only going to be as good as it's weakest link in the end, and the weaknesses of the Blues are currently greater than QLDs. Address these and NSW will have a shot and winning the series.
