10 to 1....analyst blows whistle on QLD magic carpet ride in game one

How about moving the f**k on and focusing on Game 2? I for one hope Ricky isn't dwelling on this shit. It's not going to change the result of the game and the current 1-0 lead to QLD.

NSW couldn't get the ball across the line other than a scoot from acting half (which was held up) or resorting to kicks in which the outcome is generally 50/50 as it was on the night with 2 tries and several defended by Tate, Thaiday, etc.

NSW looked to have been playing better, but it still has bigger weaknesses than QLD which were exploited by QLD and prevented NSW from capitalising on their territory and possession. This is what the management and players need to concentrate on and improve.

The new right-side defensive combination was exposed and more analysis and work prior to and in the next camp needs to address the assignments and scenarios Carney and J Morris may have to face again - Uate wasn't to blame for those tries. Carney & J Morris' double-team focus on Inglis led to those tries. He was a decoy on both and they both took the bait twice, leaving Uate outnumbered.

Furthermore, there seemed to be no organisation on the 4th and 5th to capitalise on the metres the Blues were gaining on the previous plays. The halves need to get proactive and the ball needs to get to them quickly and cleanly to give them the time and space to launch an attack. This is one area that just doesn't seem to be clicking under Stuart in his tenure which is surprising considering his pedigree as a player. It all appears to be ad hoc sparks down the left-edge with Jennings and Hayne. These plays generally come to an end because of this ad hoc nature and because there isn't the consistent combination like QLD or at club to know where to support or where to position on the next play which generally comes from regularly playing with each other.

It's all good to say 'we were the dominant team', but a team is only going to be as good as it's weakest link in the end, and the weaknesses of the Blues are currently greater than QLDs. Address these and NSW will have a shot and winning the series.

No Queenslanders are refuting anything though.

And Frank saying he stopped reading - I never knew he could read in the first place.

what a bitch!!

I fell asleep on the couch during the descent of the Pampeago and only woke up with less than 2km left of the race on the 2nd climb up to the Alpe. Missed Kreuziger's attack and the consequence of Hesjedal's push. Can watch the final 3km on steephill.tv but just ain't the f**king same as when it's happening live. f**k.

Mortirolo & Stelvio tonight will be absolutely epic! As well as the prestige of winning this stage, there has to be attacks from Liquigas and Basso, and Rodriguez needs to gain and put in time on Hesjedal because he is just a f**ked TTer.

I've only driven up the infamous eastern side with the 60+ hairpins. I was staying in Bolzano so left and had to get back there. I cruised down a little bit down the Bormio side which seemed more open and sweeping than the other side which is just ridiculous all the way to the top. Still, it'll be a long climb tonight and the highest ever finish of any Grand Tour - there's two fingers up yours to the TDF from the Giro - so the air will be thin, lungs will be gasping for air, and their legs will be screaming with pain, particularly with the obscene gradients on the Mortitolo before it. It's a great place and the views are unbelievable at the top, particularly of the road on the eastern side.

a good little summary of the pass.

How good is it that SBS are giving us coverage of all these top cycling events? Track World, all the monuments, all the GT's, the Cal Tour, dauphine, road world's........It's an absolute disgrace that C9 had the tour downunder and for the most part gave us f**k all. It's a disgrace the way they treat rugby league and that international cycling on a minnow station gets better coverage than an Australian national football comp and other Aussie events on big commercial networks.

This is the most rational post made all week. Well done.

Whilst the poor decision making on the inside left Uate stranded he made the wrong decision which made the situation almost impossible to correct. Sliding and waiting for inside cover would've definitely been the correct call on 2 of the 3 linebreaks down that side, he's not without blame here and I don't think Carney played a massive role in those linebreaks either. If Inglis was the decoy and he was cutting back with Slater wrapping around then Inglis was his (Carney's) man and he'd be crazy to assume that he's not going to get the ball so of course he was going to give him a lot of attention.

Here is my list to help the NSW team.
Three players need help ..a lot of it.

Pearce.the most overated player in the last 20 yrs..but despite many many failures keeps getting a jersey. No creativity at all.

Uate .Great weapon in attack, but for everyone he scores he will let in Two..that makes him a liability..Send him back to UN 7s to learn how to defend.

Carney,If nerves are going to get him at this level,he will be on the drink very shortly.
He could improve ,but its risky.

& if Any NSW fan thinks QLD will play that bad again ,they have rocks in their head.

Unfortunately, this kind of thinking just adds to the reasons why we are going to get spanked 3-0.

Ricky Stuart is kidding himself to think that an 'Independent Analyst' report that is leaked will do anything but look like sour grapes.

Great way to give the Maroons more ammunition, not they needed it.

Stick and Co should be spending more money and time analysing where their team went wrong, rather than how "they was robbed".

Good to see not all NSW supporters/posters on here are fu%kwits, just most of them.

Fair and balanced post, looking at things realisticlly, not through childish teary eyes.

What sour grapes by Ricky Stuart, i thought Origin was billed as hard hitting, fast paced, no remorse anything goes than standard club football?

The findings from Wednesday night's controversial 18-10 loss in Melbourne have reinforced the view of NSW coach Ricky Stuart and his players that the Maroons play by a different set of rules in Origin.

So furious was Stuart in the wake of the loss, which has the Blues at risk of a seventh consecutive series defeat, that he instructed his players not to give interviews in the lead-up to Origin II as a protest.

.....

Tell me what was wrong with what they said?

Thanks dickhead.......more proof that this NSW sook-a-thon has reached epic proportions

More ammo? Queensland have had global sized sooks in the last 2 years that utterly dwarf anything NSW have ever conjured up. And why? Because Steve Price got knocked out and because Uate didnt get suspended in a club game!

Play as crap as they did in Sydney last year or as crap as they did in Melbourne this year?

Face it the gap in class between the two teams is closing, your forward pack is no where near as dominant as it has been in the past.

Yet they still won.

Am pretty sure we heard similar comments this time last year as well.

Commissioning the Report is embarrassing on a number of levels. It being leaked was inevitable. It's independence is laughable.
