After the way Derp and BunniesMan have carried on all off season, I'm sorry to say that you'll cop this sh*t all season long from supporters of every club, even ones that in the past have liked Souths.

Please don't take it personally mate as I know from your contributions here that you're a decent bloke.

Any time you want to catch up to watch a game or to have a beer, I'm always happy to oblige.

For Souths, I thought Pettybourne, Sandow and Farrell played well. I wouldnt reach for the rope just yet I were a Souths fan. Arguably their most influential player in Isaac Luke didnt play, and I wont even get started on the rest that were out.

What's the story with Luke Stuart not playing, injured or just rested?

If this game proved one thing, it's that a line break against Souths will almost certainly be a try.

The fullback is the last line of defence, but even a pot plant would be more effective than Wesser. His effort on Tagive was particularly woeful.

Saints have to be the team to beat. Looked really professional which is all you can ask for in a trial but spanked the bunnies highly fancied pack.

Um, our highly fancied pack generally includes Luke, Crocker, Taylor, Burgess and Stuart, all of whom weren't there last night. I'd say that the pack that you watched will make up the majority of the Bears pack for this year.

Wesser should give it up if this continues. Top bloke and he might be reserves in a few weeks.
Obviously if things are the way they seem (Souths are actually this crap) then Lang will be shown the door and Rusty will pay someone a sh*tload of money to coach them.
I hear Wigan coach and former Storm assistant McGuire is looking to return to Australia.

I agree. I think Wesser will see a lot of NSW cup this year before being shipped off to the ESL. I think Merritt should be at the back and either Vai Vai or Morgan should get his wing spot.

It's all getting a bit sad for Wesser now.

I sat amongst Souths members at ANZ for a few games last year, and the majority of Souths fans around me seemed geniunly perplexed as to how he was still allowed to play rugby league for South Sydney in any grade, let alone first grade.

As a supporter of another team, I geniunly hope they keep picking Wesser, but I can't see it happening. He is just not very good at playing rugby league any more.

I know it was a trial, but fair dinkum, after a tough, grinding and actually quite solid first 10 minutes, Souths looked very ordinary. I hope that's not what they offer up in the season proper. To be fair they were missing most of their lynchpins.

The Sandow hit wasn't that great either, whoever the Dragons player was kinda just got up like he'd swatted a fly. And the other problem with Sandow is, for every one hit he pulls off, he misses another 25 tackles.

Thread needs more desperate excuses from BunniesMan as to why Souths players (of any grade) can't actually tackle.

Also some excuses as to why their first grade halves couldn't conjour up more decent moves against a makeshift Dragons outfit would be awesome.

Also needs more dribblings from Twerp as they're always good to laugh AT.

I'm so stoked about Cuthbo. I dunno but there is just something that makes me want to see him do well and this game looked like a promising new beginning for him. A new look, a new attitude towards play, more effort. Great game Cuthbo!

Agree 110%, glad we picked him up.
Already looks focused & hungry, and still plenty of room for improvement there...

It won't be Souths if their defensive structures in the trial are anything to go by.
