Very entertaining/traumatising game to start the season. Roosters had a 20 miniute lapse where all discipline went out the window, but luckily held on for a classy finish. Thanks Dave Taylor! Excellent comeback by Souths though.

Excellent crowd, excellent atmosphere. Nothing beats a pumping SFS for a Roosters v Souths match! And happy to see that Roosters fans easily made up the majority of the crowd.

Tom Symonds, Mose Masoe and Marty Kennedy were the standouts for me. Kennedy is huge. loving our forward pack at the moment.
Masoe and JWH could be the new Morley and Crocker  crazy pricks.

Geddes - could that be career? Frequently injured as it is and a ruptured achiles, turns 31 this season? Be a sad way for a good clubman to go out

Sandow and Luke must have little man syndrome, stop looking for a fight, stop showing off AND play the farkin game.

What is with the Roosters getting away with constantly holding onto the player? FFS, how many times can you do it without getting penalised? That's the reason Souths players lost it in the last 20-30mins, they were sick of being held onto illegally.

Wake the f**k up refs.

LOL@Souffs could only score points when receiving penalty after penalty after penalty...

6-0 penalty count in the 2nd half to the bunnies, leading to almost all of their 2nd half points bar the runaway try.

Seems Archer hasn't forgotten his love of penalising the sh*t out of us

Best moment of the night in hindsight was Sandow celebrating like the wanker that he is when scoring that try, only to see him missing a tackle about 30 seconds later to let in the match winner :D

you do realise you ended up winning the penalty count? In the last 20-30 minutes thats when you received all the penalties and scored all your trys.. so that did not make one ounce of sense

Key things for Souths;

1. Most important, they have not fixed their defensive issues. Attack was never a problem in 2010, which made signing Inglis a bit non-sensical, especially when it took them 50 minutes to realize he was playing. Regardless, defence was woeful and if they want to even hope to make the top eight they need to step it up hugely. Conceding 40 points to a Roosters team lacking Carney is more an indication of how horrible Souths were in defence than how good the Roosters were in attack.

2. Attitude. Expectation. Two key words each of those players simply doesn't seem to understand, aside from a few; Burgess, Luke, Asotasi, etc.

The amazing thing though, is that regardless of whether they had won or not, they are going to get docked 2 points anyway for having 14 men on the field; and it was for four tackles, not for 15 seconds.
Souths are in huge trouble; if the NRL is fair-dinkum they will move Souths onto -2 points.

Potential season-ending injury and an injury to Burgess is not the ideal way to start a season......

Roosters were good but not great, more an indication of how horrible their opposition were in defence. Rabbitohs showed they have the talent to score though.

It's a wonderful thing to know your best player is still to come back...

Phone call at half time

Gallop: "Tony, Its David Gallop here whats going on. You know what they say Tony when the Rabbits are going well League is going well. Do what you have to do"

The non penalty against Inglis for using a teamate as a shield was laughable.

As I said with No archer we win by 40

Inglis takes like 3 steps sideways and 2 steps forward everytime he gets up to play the ball. I continue to hate Sandow with the passion of a billion Charlie Sheens. I can't wait to see the little bastard get leveled by a shoulder charge, though given his height that may be physically impossible. Wasn't it last season he missed a tackle or got steamrolled for the game winner too? He always delivers the goods.

The Refs helping Souths even the game up in the second half made this a great game to watch but was unfair to the roosters.

Sandow never fails to make an idiot of himself, celabrating a try instead of improving his position for the conversion was a case in point. And I guess Lang has already given up on trying to teach him how to tackle.

LOL at 40uth$ chokers

LOL at Sandow - celebrating like that with 15m and 10 minutes to go..........karma.

Taylor seemed to drop the ball every time he touched it.

Isaac Luke has balls of steel! No one on the Rabbitohs stood up to JWH but him. How big is Luke? 5 foot 6? And Jarred's 6 foot 2?

Stood up to him?

He got up throwing handbags and JWH just laughed in his face and walked away.

Luke and Sandow have massive cases of little man syndrome, and one of these days the big props they keep trying to shape up to will put them on their arse.

Actually I think Shillo tried to do that to Luke last year buy Luke was saved by the ref
